Chazz...

While some of this is true, it is also true that the biggest polluters of the environment is the common man these days, it isn't big business. :)

The biggest amount of chemicals dropped into the water ways is you and your neighbor fertilizing the yard, or spraying pesticides.

It isn't big business that is putting the largest amounts of pollutants in the air any more, there are big regulations against this sort of thing, it is the average Joe who drives a vehicle.

Let’s take a little look at to big business...

They don't just push out what pollutants they do with out a reason, they never have, its not the business way.

They are there so that you can have all the luxuries in your own home, no matter where in the world you are you can have these things.

It is the common man that wants all of the modern conveniences but doesn't want to see what it takes for these products to be produced.

(It's about the same argument that people have about killing things, but still utilize meat and by products of said animals.)

That is you, me and every one else on this planet that buy their products, don't buy the offending product, then it won't be produced...

There would be non of these big companies you are so afraid to educate yourself on around if it weren't for us buying their wares...

I am not trying to down grade any one here, or down play the importance of what it is that is being fought for...

What I do want is that every single person on here educate themselves on the topics they are speaking of. Not from the heart, or just on the one side that makes you feel good, but from the head where issues can actually be answered in the proper means and dealt with in a proper fashion.

I asked a question about why forest fires are getting hotter every year, and I get no answers, there are answers to this, and they are very easy, so I am either figuring those answers aren't known here, which I would explain or they don't want to be looked at in a real sense, which makes those who don't want to see the truth for what it is kind of spineless...

I wouldn't look at any one here as spineless, unless they don't want to see the whole truth of a topic only fight for one side with out looking at the whole topic at hand and they really don't believe in what they are sounding on.

It is commendable that you are interested enough in this topic to work on a debate.

I am not trying to make any one change their minds on this topic, only to educate them selves on the whole story, it can only make you stronger with more knowledge and understand more of what you are talking about...

before i dive into this i will speak for myself on this one point. i am probobly not the same age as you. but i do eat alot of organic food and since the mad cow thing and not eating much beef. as for the fertilizer, all the scraps of fruit and anything that can go in it goes to the compost heap in the yard. ta-da fertilizer. no pesticies at all, they are not good for you, you probobly know that. no one the same age as me is as well versed in this as me, and you gotta give it to me for trying to learn more:) the public does put alot of pollutants into the air, corporations also put ALOT in.

i would say i am fairly well rounded on this subject. i am not at all -afraid- to educate myself in big business, actually i am interested enough to read a couple of books on big business, and would like to go into trading(a little contradicting). one which is rather relevent to what we are talking about enron. PRIME example, this is a company that all they cared about ws making alot of money fast. they built a plant upwind from a hotel. there was ash-like stuff comming down with the wind from the plant and blanketing the hotel, the hotel was closed becuase they needed to clean it.

also, i refered to this earlier. when laws were going that they would need to make reforms of what they could put in the air. they hired people to go to washington and lobby for them. also the CEO, who was freinds with the Bush family would almost always not have to change anything.

lets look at what is going on now. the clean air act, i think this is right but not 100%, let more pollutants in the air then before. becasue this administration has ties with oil companies.

it is my strong beleif that as long as people with lots of money and politics are around things like me and you want to happen are going to take a really long time. vietman, protests all over, and the war went on.

if i am wrong in anything i said go ahead and correct, no offence taken.

I am very glad you are here working on this topic Chazz...

It does show a lot of forthrightness and courage to step up to the plate, the vast majority won't...

it is my strong beleif that as long as people with lots of money and politics are around things like me and you want to happen are going to take a really long time. vietman, protests all over, and the war went on.

This will always be, money, politics and getting their way...

It is good to beat the drums for good reasons and purposes...

But at the same time, it is far better to understand who is actually doing the beating, you will find that most of the issues in the forefront really doesn't have any thing to do with the topic, it is just a way that some individuals at the top can make a ton of $$$ getting the masses stirred up, it is the way of the world in some circles now.

There is nothing wrong with a person chosing any trade they want to go into, providing they don't lose their base morals when the dust finally settles...

I have cut a lot of trees and killed a lot of animals in my life, does this make me a bad person???

In some peoples eyes it would make me the most evil and viel of people, but that is because they have no idea of what they are babbling about and they don't know a thing about what I did as I went.

Taking of life is done with reverence, no matter what life, I have seen no one that is in taking trees out for a living, do it just to watch them hit the ground and go find another... I see this in the fire world, but different topic, different stories.

I am not even going to begin to get into the reasons I was taking trees out, I could write a book on it, but the point I am making is that the people who harvest trees are better stewerds of the land than I would say 99% of the people who just beat a drum and spout nonsense about saving the world.

Every thing I or others did/do, is utilized in one way or another, even the clear cut logging, most of those I just mentioned in the 99% bracket, create nothing but more paper work for others.

They live in houses, go to jobs that produce nothing, especially most office help (disclaimer: some desk jobs are extremely necessary, most just move paper around, my opinion)

To actually create some thing for wealth for the country or yourself as a true gain, must be garnered from the Earth utilizing raw products...

Look at the wealthy nations of the world, those who have raw products and utilize them wisely prosper, those who don't have them or just squander them are relegated into a third world status. Examples are all around, a lengthy search of the internet will prove this...

Some or as the media would like you to believe, most seem to think that Mother Earth is static for example as a picture would be, but she is far from that, there is no place on this planet that any thing stays the same forever...

Even deep caves will change over time.

Techtonics of the earth move, shape and mold every thing we have and see, just because it may not change as much as you would like to see in your life time or even over a few years, it still happens, and will never stop.

Yes there are damages man has done, and yes, they have been pretty catastrophic in some places, (not saying we need to create more havoc) but to make the changes, there are things we must also do, recycling is great, fine and dandy, but why not spend the untold millions the left spends every year on lawsuits shutting down logging that really needs to take place in areas and spend that money on research on inventions to use less of some thing, or to create better energy sources.

I would guarentee that if you came up with a new energy source or a good invention that would benefit every one, plus be more cost efficient in more than a monetary sense, "Big business, or Big money" would be at your door utilizing your product.

It is these very same entities who have came up with all the cool things we use now, good or bad for the environement and ourselves.

To answer your question to the others here Chazz, they are reading what we are posting, so I wouldn't worry about that... ;)

They will post if we hit the right nerve... Thats the magic of the internet... :D

i have one thing to say on the note of things always changing. while looking very close things are always changing, but in the big picture everything in nature stays the same. it is an endless cycle, it is also beyond me why we are in this position to run the whole thing. that is another topic entirely.

it is the extent to which we do things, everything was fine when each family was doing there own thing. making their own houses, raising their own cattle, growing their own fruit/veges. now the mass production of all of this has spun it in different direction. you are not a bad person if you take down a few trees, animals(in my mind) like i said it is the extent of doing this that i do not think is good

and people dont always get rich off of this world, stocks, bond, the various markets.
