Can someone please give a step by step process of how to do FINAL bevel and sharpening after HT?
I have looked for this answer on here but can't find it?

You can either go with rough-to-fine whetstone or with the grinder. If You choose the second options use bare hands and dip in water frequently in order to not ruin the temper; spray a mist of water on the belt to moisten, reducing the chance to overheat the blade, i find this very useful and help also to avoid clogging the belt too fast.
I'd do the last passes on the stones for sharpening, just to be on the safe side with the hardened steel temper.
When i say water i mean a bucket of water with two drops of soap and a hint of windex (avoiding rust during the process).
I remember the first knife i made; ended up with a diamond burr on the dremel!!!! I had no better idea ;)

I use a rough stone 220 grit for slicers, that I want to cut straight and true. Then I proceed through the waterstones up to 8000.

For utility type knives, where perfectly straight edge is not absolutely necessary, I will use a belt sander at 220 grit. Then I hit it with the Polishing "Paper Wheel".

Thanks for the replies, i guess what I wanted to know was the best ways to do it WITHOUT power tools. I'm trying to do as much as I can by hand until I can buy some more equipment. So....can it be successfully done with files and sharpening stones? I'm thinking YES, but what do you guys think?

DMT diamond stones make some pretty short work of sharpening and setting edge bevels. Maybe you can try some various grit wet and dry sandpaper on a piece of glass?
