You'd probably get them locked quicker by clicking on the red triangle in the upper right corner and requesting it there...

I had no idea about that feature. Unbelievable. Ya learn something new every day,
Thnks
Bro.

What, do you think the moderators spend all our time deleting or locking every for-sale thread post as soon as it's no longer for sale?

We have better things to do than lock your completed sales posts. I fyou upgrade to a Platinum membership you can do it yourself if you wish though I don't see the need to lock posts such as that anyway.

Whoa!!.. chill out guys. I was just thinking about keeping the exchange forum clean. Just so that people wouldn't bump up stuff that says no longer available, cuz it happens. Just though i was helping out. I will be sure not to ask again.....
Sorry?:confused::(

Trimcut..what I do is just mark the item as sold by editing your post...then usually these items fall off the first pages...

good luck..

Ren:D

I hear ya, i guess i will just stick to that from now on.................
Thanks
Matt B.

I think I'm going to make it so that gold members can close their own threads, like Platinums.

Could you set that only for the Exchange forums?

Might cause problems in the discussion forums, but then again it might not....

spark:
that would be awesome.

thanks for this awesome site, BTW. i have learned so much and my love of knives has def. been enriched.

Plus, I love ren's posts!

Brett

I too think its a great idea. But i to think it should be restricted for just the Exchange forums.... At least it would keep the mods from complaining.....:p
J/K, you guys are doing plenty..... It would be good to help out..

Sold things naturally drift to the bottom. What's the problem?

I respectfully submit that we're looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Sold threads are a wonderful record that is invaluable for people researching the potential value of knives. And also the popularity and availability of specific knives.

And don't get me started about people who edit out the price after the sale... The least you can do to thank the community for providing this market place for you to sell in is contribute to the historical body of knowledge that helps everyone.

Hear, hear!

 Or like spark said we could enable gold members like myself to close threads if wanted. I too get annoyed when people edit out thier prices only. But Very often members bump threads that have been closed for a while.... Not much of an arguement, but i wouldn't mind seeing the ability given to gold members for the exchange area only...

Ok, I've set Gold members & Knifemakers to be able to open / close their own threads. We'll see how it goes.

I think it'll be okay. Occasionally a Platinum Member starts a thread in TGB&U and then tries locking it when he starts losing the argument, but people just start a new thread. I expect that will happen more often if Gold Members can do it too, but it's just another opportunity for people to show their character.
