I was just pointing out that now everyone gets one of the two features that were unique to Platinum, leaving one unique feature- the titles. Maybe our fierce leader could crack open the sea chest and bestow some unique booty unto platinumites? Maybe animated avatars, wenches, grog? :D

Well, most animations are just annoying, and you can't have carp because carp are reserved for the moderators, but wenches and grog, maybe....

If wenches are part of the deal, I'll upgrade right now.

Sold threads are a wonderful record that is invaluable for people researching the potential value of knives. And also the popularity and availability of specific knives.

And don't get me started about people who edit out the price after the sale... The least you can do to thank the community for providing this market place for you to sell in is contribute to the historical body of knowledge that helps everyone.

In general, I agree. I've used the search function on many occasions to determine a "market price" before I've listed a knife for sale. Some blades that I've sold, I've left the price - some not.

a) If it was a simple "I'll take it" at the listed price, I've left the price.
b) If I've sold to someone who asked for the price to be removed, I've honored it.
c) If I sold at a lower price, after a back channel negotiation, I've removed the price since it wasn't an accurate selling price. Or, say, the sell involved cash and trade.

"A" is a non-issue.
"B" would seem to be, too. At least to me.

"C"... hmmm. Would you leave the asking price? Would you amend to reflect the "private," negotiated price? Would you remove the price? Would one list the details of trade fodder and $$?

I'm curious to hear the opinion of others. I like seeing the price reflected but am torn, depending on the circumstances.

Thanks

People search expecting to find asking prices. Often that's exactly what they want, they want to know what price to ask when they offer the same knife for sale. Even when it isn't what they want it's what they expect to find, and what they assume they have found.

How about 150x150 avatars and comely wenches?

Platinum......
So, that's another $25 huh? I'm gonna think on that tonight.
I've gotten more info from this site and made more friends than
any other time I spent $25.

Yeah, and what Gollnick said, leave the prices alone!
