It threw rather well, granted I am really not experienced in hatchet throwing so I just winged it. At first we were sticking about 50% of our throws but after a short while that number rose to about 80-90%. It was a lot of fun and my daughter loved it :thumbup:defintely high on the cool factor in her eyes

How comfortable is the grip for chopping etc.?

well if I had my choice I would have chose micarta but I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor. I use leather work gloves so it was quite comfortable, with the g10 handles and bare hands it would slip but a lanyard would work great. It really is an awesome piece, I love it
