I apologize if this is off topic (although I am asking specifically about knives, so I'm not sure it is). People at Blade Show, we want to live vicariously through you! Please post pictures!

Thank you.

Now we know where that Snapon knife came from

Anything other than ZT? What are the other guys putting out for Knife of the Year?

+1

For those of us who can't be there and are feeling the pain, I am not sure if this makes it better or worse?!

But thanks in advance...

Not to be too specific, but I would love to see what's at the Strider, RHK, or MKT booth's please! (That was too specific)

I think that ZT would be way cooler if you flipped it over... it'd be the "666 Zero" then.

I don't know if I like the 0999, but it's ambitious. It's like an imaginary collab between Marfione and GTC -- a super-busy game of knife-maker one-upmanship that ends up producing an overdone 'super-folder'... does it have retractable wings? An onboard computer? I don't have the same immediate appreciation for the design that the 0454 and 0777 inspired, but that might change. It's definitely... interesting.

What, is there No traditional knife content present at the show?

The main Blade Show Awards are for production knives, so traditional knives produced by larger companies like Case and GEC are certainly able to offer their new knives up for consideration. 'Overall Knife of the Year', 'American made KOTY', and 'Investment KOTY' are all open to production traditionals. 'Most Innovative KOTY' and 'Imported KOTY', on the other hand, are not really applicable.

They also have a smaller (but no less prestigious) KOTY award for custom and hand-made knives, which is where you find ABS-type Bowies, fighters, slipjoints, and various other traditionals. It's mainly a place for ABS members to be recognized for their work, but respected 'non-traditional' makers like RJ Martin, Todd Begg --and last year's winner for 'Best New Knife-Maker' -- Brian Nadeau. I wish it got more publicity.

EDIT: I thought you wrote 'contest', referring to the awards, but you actually wrote 'content'... which explains my baffling response about Awards. I obviously woke up too early.:)

I bought this Iron Dragon. Ernie Emerson signed it for me.
