Please read this:

I didn't say it before... This is a great post KAAK... thanks!

And... VERY COOL of you on you passaround offer in the other thread!

Actually, Irwin would say: Both Yes and No -- until you make a measurement, whereupon it collapses to one value. Which could be ... yes or no! Though I do get your point -- in Feynman's preferred picture, one could create each and every one of those wave functions! In this case, the mixed states just have no real interest for me.

God, I love quantum mechanics. I cannot tell you how many long, drawn-out, eventually boozy BS sessions this discipline has spawned!! Yes, scientists do get s***-faced, on occasion. And boy, do we ever disagree. (Good thing we're mostly too uncoordinated for knife fights.)

Hey OldPhysics, do you know any theory that would allow Jaxx to have #7 while I have it?

Maybe there is some sort of multi-dimensional worm hole deal that lets Amy like everyone the best.

I don't want anyone to quit posting :D I just know that I took a break from the threads and ongoing's that were wearing thin on me. It helps and makes posting here more enjoyable

Do you mean like a death chat?

Wash -- perhaps! If we can convert the aforementioned knife into bosons (photons, let's say) in just the right physical process, then we can take advantage of some of the 'loopholes' in reality.

We should be able to produce two identical knives (again, composed of photons), letting each individual 'have' one. There are some minor problems. Since they're made of bosons, you can't actually touch them -- therefore cutting and chopping are right out. Also, and I'm not completely sure of this, if both gentlemen look at their knives at precisely the same moment...well, we'd probably lose each knife. And maybe both knife-owners!

It's also possible that, if Jaxx modified his clone of the knife, your own clone would instantly exhibit the same modification. So -- I hope you and Jaxx have precisely the same taste in knives!!

WARNING: The methodology discussed above has never been tried with anything larger than an array of elementary particles. But, what the heck, we're speculating here!

As to Amy-0. This is a much easier situation requiring no quantum mechanics whatsoever. My own wife, Mrs. OP, appears to have a very large heart and can love a large number of individuals at precisely the same time. I suspect Amy-0 shares this same quality, probably a property of all women, and thus has room for each and every one of us in her own large heart!

So, if Jaxx blinks first does that mean I'll have the only #7 left?

I know Amy likes me the best but I don't know Mrs. OP, so she can't like me the best. I'm pretty sure it has to be some multi-dimensional worm hole thing or else every one is wrong and she really does like me the best.

The Dancing Wu-Li Infiheads!

I'll completely understand if no one responds to this post. But if anyone does...Quantum Mechanics was a hobby of mine until I found out I wasn't smart enough to be a fizzy-cyst. Then I found out I wasn't boring enough to be a philosopher, funny enough to be a comedian or creative enough to be a wild-eyed radical conspiracy theorist...so I went to law school.

That's still pretty smart. Every one knows a good lawyer can make a lot more money than a good fizzy-cyst.

KAAK, great thread, Thanks. You and Walking Man are probably the main forumites I would credit (and others curse) for me sticking around. That, and the fact that Ol' LeatherHOG ocasionally posts some uber-deep statement with enough truth and wisdom to think he was around when the Dead Sea was just sick.

I love INFI, idolize Jerry and use the crap outta knives. I don't need a title for that, and I'll do whatever I can to assist another to gain a chunk 'O' greatness. But, while respecting my brothers in chopdom and the the man who provides us with enough stream to converse about it.;)

Great post KAAK. You're one of the guys I think are a real plus for the forum. I posted the following about a year ago when I was in an overly blabbery mood. The "Busse Club" was really a comment on how the HOG's set the example in making a great forum. Sad to say, my "role models" seem in shorter supply these days. No whining, I'll just try to do better myself.

I'm quite new to the forum but generally enjoy the insanity of the partipants and the Extravaganzaaa's etc. As a newbie I may be out of my depth, but just for conversation:

The TRUTH is, YES THERE IS A BUSSE CLUB! Resistance to the notion is futile. Accept and be released from defending an untenable position.

Does the shoe/glove fit? Who are the people who are IN the club and who is NOT? From what I've seen, you have to meet the following qualities to be IN (if not then you're NOT IN):

1) IN's are ENTHUSIASTIC about BUSSE products (and most often knives in general). They're INTERESTED.
2) IN's PARTICIPATE. On the FORUM (duh) and often elsewhere (e.g. Shows)
3) IN's are KNOWLEDGABLE. They have EXPERIENCE and EXPERTISE with BUSSE knives and others. They know the HISTORY of the clan.
4) IN's are HELPFUL and CONSTRUCTIVE. They share what they know. Maybe they remember they didn't come out of the barrel knowing anything at all. Yes, it may be the 2,000th time somebody posts an item to the wrong forum or asks for information that's easily available elsewhere but some IN always seems to redirect them without getting all disgruntled.
6) IN's are COMMITTED (not necessarily institutionalized). Obviously some people have a load invested in Busse steel. I don't think that's what separates the IN's from the NOT's, but it might be a sign. IN's have a commitment in time or money. Either way, it's valuable.
7) IN's are HOG's and recognize that they live in a TROUGH with other HOG's. HOG's, loaded or broke, over or under employed, and with whatever other obligations are the sort to miss the superbowl to get locked out of the server in the faint hope of scoring a nice piece of work before all the others. ) Not everyone likes it or wants to play. Not wanting to play doesn't make you a NOT but cats hiss, not HOG's.
8) IN's are FRIENDLY and often have FRIENDS on the forum. Who wants to spend their time arguing on the internet. Grumps exclude themselves by their behavior. Many IN's know other IN's personally. I don't know how many or how well they know each other, but it's at least on a first name basis. Some go to shows, some meet other ways, and some may just have traded enough posts that they're friends in that way.
9) IN's are ACCEPTING. I'm very thankful that they are.

I'm sick of what I think. I need a beer.
Dave
