Recommendation? Please recommend a 7–8" blade for light chopping of wood

Looks like Skrama is going to be my next knife — or one of the next. It will probably be Skrama 240: although I was asking about a smaller knife, I was so impressed by the bigger one that I'll probably buy a full-size chopper now.
I'll probably save on the leather sheath — it costs almost as much as the knife itself, which is ridiculous, and I have a few spare sheaths that the Skrama will fit into.

But it will be later: I've just ordered another knife, it should arrive today.

I like my Becker BK 7. If you want a great chopper and don’t mind going a bit bigger, the BK 9 is excellent.

Good choice. I don’t think you can get a better chopper, let alone for the money. The knife being almost as much as the sheath is really just a testament to how well the knife is priced. $40 for a nice quality leather sheath with a dangler and a plastic insert is a steal imo…I can guarantee you won’t be able to send it off for a custom sheath for near that price. If you have a sheath that will for sure fit it, that is a good way to get a nice chopper for really cheap, though. Can’t believe they can sell em that cheap

Becker BK7 fits your criteria, but the BK9 is a much better chopper and for me an all around better choice.

The Skrama 200 again fits your criteria, but for chopping the 240 (slightly larger) makes a much better chopper.

If it was me the Becker BK9 is my first choice of these four.

Where can someone find a Skrama? In our list of supported vendors, of course.
Varusteleka is the only place you can get one, AFAIK. When I bought a couple of 240s a few years ago, there was a wait. You put your email on a list and they notified you when they had some knives to ship. A couple of weeks ago, my 200 shipped within a day or two of my order, and took a little over a week to get here.

To keep things in perspective, I think the Skrama 240 is an excellent chopper in comparison with the “ big knives” with blades of 9-11 inches. I do not find it chops as well as my chopping machetes, like the Condor Golok and Bushcraft Parang, with blades of 13-14”. The Skrama chops as well as it does because of its long handle, which gives an overall length of about 16””, not quite as long as the chopping machetes, which run 17-19”. More length gives more head speed. The blades tend to put more weight toward the sweet spot, which also yields better chopping.
