Please share your experience with Buck 119 for intensive outdoor tasks.

For an upgrade steel, look for an 819SS Limited Edition.

S30V, Walnut handles. There may still be a few around. The handle end of the 819 looks like the end of the 805. Sorry about the lousy pic

i got my buck 119 about 3 months ago. it rocks. the 420, while not the greatest, still takes a killer(literally) edge adn is easy to bring back. jsut bring a sharpener with you. the 110/119 hasn't been around for so long if it didnt work. same with the ka-bar, case knives, etc

Stainz, They did 440C early (1967-1985) and 425 (1986-1993). So, get one of these and you'll have the package you want. There worth it on flea bay. Perhaps even one of the Buck brothers will part w/ one to you.Good luck. DM

I would like to see 119 with a higher grade steel in the future too. Like 154 CM or ATS-34 and why not even with S 30 V ? Today I ordered the standart version.

Hey Pack, what size blade does the 819 sport? I've not seen that one. DM

The 819SS is the same size as a regular 119. Just shaped a little different and with walnut scales.

The top one is a normal shaped 119, bottom one is an 805SS. The Signature Series knives are S30V and were limited edition runs of 1,000 knives.

sorry for the lousy pic quality. Didn't spend much time with it.

An interesting side note. I was at a gun show yesterday and ran across a few Bucks. One wanted $70 for a 1990 stamped 119. and it was not in all that great shape.

I just kind of grinned, laid it down, and went on my way. Guy obviously hasn't been to walmart lately.

Pack, Whats a normal price for a 805? I too have seen places over pricing Bucks. DM

Normal price,,,,who knows..... What ever you can get them cheap for on ebay.

I have seen them range from $90 to $200. I haven't really tracked them of late.

There is always the Master Series 119 with bg-42....if you can find one....and expect to pay $250 and up for one. Worth it? Yep! I just can't bring myself to use it though LOL! Such a sweetie, let me tell ya'! I do use my 110 Custom Design bg-42 however and that is the steel for me! Don't get me wrong; I have nothing against 420hc and tend to find no fault whatsoever with it.

Dave

Wnen the 119 with bg-42 was produced ? Do you know where from i could purchase one if it is possible at all at the recent moment?
