New lock for a specific model = new tooling = big $$$
Look at the recent uprising over the cost of the new Starmate. That knife has new tooling and people were trippin.

But that knife is not nearly as cool as a ti para2 would be. Simply from looks the new starmate is just an expansion of the tenacious line to me. I would definitely buy a ti para for $250 street.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't put a flipper on a compression locking folder. On lockbacks it doesn't work, because the lockbar is in the way (unless you do the SOG pass through lockbar thing), but the compression lock is a part of the liner and shouldn't be in the way. You might need to redo the 50/50 choil area a bit in order to fit it on a Para2, but it seems at least theoretically doable.
