Hi everyone. I'm looking for a new EDC knife. I'd like to find a classy gentleman's folder that still has some modern features that make it easy to use. It needs to meet the following requirements:

- Brown wood scales or inlays
- One hand opening (thumb studs, thumb hole, flipper, etc.) NO NAIL NICKS
- Non-assisted
- Under 3" blade preferred
- Decent steel preferred, but will even consider 420HC
- Pocket clip
- Made in USA or Europe preferred
- $200 or less preferred

Currently my top contender is the Lionsteel Mini, but I'm not a fan of the look of the version with the pocket clip. If the version with all wood scales came with a pocket clip it would be about perfect. I already have a Benchmade North Fork, and it's a great knife, but a little bigger than I'd prefer.

Thanks!

I was going to recommend the Benchmade you listed in the OP, so you're off to a good start!

If you are not adamant about wood, I would highly recommend the Spyderco Chaparral.

The Spyderco Kiwi 4 was my choice. It's overall design wins over price for a small classy edc with a clip. The cutting edge is about 2.5". Love this little knife!

My experience with Boker has not been great, but they have several options, Boker Plus Exskelibur II, Boker Plus Gordito...

Benchmade 482 Megumi Nak-Lock Nakamura might be perfect for you, but it is a little ornate.

Mcusta is worth checking out too.

Here's a quick link to BHQ sorted by your criteria, you can even filter it to country and steel choices

If you can find a Sage4 it's awesome, but I wouldn't call it smaller than the Northfork mentioned

It's a synthetic wood but more durabl for Pocket abuses like keys. M390 steel is excellent. Easy opening and closing one handed. It's damn near perfect sized for your needs

Mini Grip with custom wood scales?

For $200, you've got a ton of choices, with wood covers aftermarket made.
Here's a Gayle Bradley Air with micarta. Very nice little knife.

First, drop $10 for an Opinel. A No.6 for just under 3" and if you can get by with more length, check out the No.8, particularly the garden which is my favorite.

Not 1 handed for most, but one serious knife in a very simple and naturally flowing package. Super strong and extremely light that cuts like high end butter knife.

If you can do without the wood, The Native 5 is a fine knife with good steel and excellent fit and finish. Just under 3 inch blade.

I hate to say this because it is over budget but what you really want is a Chris reeves mnandi
