As much as I like the Spyderco FRN Endura, I'll have to recommend the Benchmade 551 Griptilian instead.
Compare them both side-by-side and I think you will agree.

cds1, I think most states/courts consider double bladed knives to be daggers, even if only part of the back edge is sharpened. Technically a dagger is symmetrical, but once a state has silly edged weapon laws, don't expect courts to be intelligent about accepting conservative definitions of terms.

(This presumes your state bans carry of daggers, which is often but not always the case.)
 
I would suggest the CRKT M-1. I got mine for about $52.00 at my local gun store. Probably one of the most rugged knives you'll find for the price.
