It's here

The shipping is $12.95 so that is the profit for the seller, presumably. But I can't find mention of a 12" fighter in 400 series stainless steel that is coated...

Is this for real?

And, has anyone dealt with the seller?

And finally, is this a good deal as it seems?

Thanks!

The knife is a POS that costs 5bux from the wholesaler and the one I saw on the display board the handle had came away from the guard under the pressure of a cable tie that was holding it on the display. If the handle falls off when the wrap a cable tie around it to attach it to a peg board then I wouldnt trust the knife to handle cutting cardboard..........

The item is billed as "USMC MILITARY KNIFE FIGHTING KNIVES Reg $98 SALE $6 "

So is this B.S.? Is this a fraud?

I guess that is standard pricing for this obviously low quality, Chinese made copy of a Ka bar.
Not saying there aren't credible Chinese made knives - this just isn't one of them.

It's junk. The seller is a soul less crook(as is anybody who would sell this crap), and I unclog my nostrils in his/her general direction. :barf:

hehehehe...looks like china to me  !!!

You might find it cheaper in "cheaper than dirt's" website, they sell the real thing too, but they also sell alot of knockoffs.

It's BS. Nowhere in the ad does it say it's a Ka-Bar, because it isn't.

It's a very cheap clone by people who don't even know the terminology -- for example, it isn't a "Drop point blade" and their 440 is not "Better then a Ka Bar D2".

The header says it's a "USMC MILITARY KNIFE FIGHTING KNIVES Reg $98 SALE $6" but in the text they say "Similar Styles Retail $98". So theirs never sold for $98 because it was never worth more than a few bucks.

Don't bother unless you really "need" a knife-shaped object to hang on your wall.

I took a look at the other "great deals" that this guy was saleing and they are all Maxam brand knives from china useing cheap 420j2 steel and are sold at flea markets. IF the knife says MAXAM on it then dont get it unless your looking for a disposable.

My own greed did me in. It's my fault. I let myself get carried away. This is a great lesson for me.

I informed the seller that I want a refund, but I don't hold out much hope. It's my fault anyway. The last thing I want is a a cheap POS knife. It will end up in the trash if he does ship it to me as it isn't worth sending back for a refund that won't include his shipping charge.

I'm the idiot here :(

Well, everybody has to own a POS, otherwise they wouldn't be able to fully understand how good other (good) knives really are. As you have surely noticed the seller is peddling this poo and gets his markup with his outrageous shipping fee. ~$20 could have gotten you a decent fixed-blade Mora knife, shipped, FWIW :)

I bet it will make a good tool for digging holes.

Oh and the thing about "lifetime warranty" (mentioned in item's description): it usually says "send the product + $5 to the following address and we'llsend you a replacement" - the $5 yousend in covers the cost of new POS product and shipping :D

Sorry you were taken. You really have to watch buying on ebay. Even though the guy does not claim it is a real kabar, there are those who do and still cheat people also. Knowledge, is good in this respect, the more you know about what your looking for, the better off you will be.

Consider it an "in-expensive" learning lesson if you are not refunded. At least you didnt pay 50.00 for it!!

I told the seller I didn't want it. They refunded me the $6 product price. I hate POS knives and don't want to own one.

I left feedback "be careful! Read product descriptions carefully".

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it. The old adage "if it's too good to be true blah blah" is so true!

Yea it happens, but if ya live by the adage, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, you won't get burned, and always ask the seller if you have any questions.

This is a great lesson for me

Yea it was but be glad ya didn't learn it on a Marbles Safety Knife and it was $19 instead of $500. :(

The last thing I want is a a cheap POS knife
:footinmou

I can't help ya there, ya could always mount it on a plaque to remind you not to make that mistake again. ;)

I'm the idiot here

Only if ya make the same mistake again.

Dude don't be so hard on yourself, it's only a few drinks, a nice dinner, lunch and a movie, a weekends worth of video rentals, 2 packs of butts and a cigar. :)

You probably shouldn't have left negative feedback for this seller. Neutral would have been better, in my opinion. They did refund your money after all.

Well, they didn't refund all my money, they only refunded my $6.00, not the $12.95 shipping for an item that I said "don't ship."

I told them that regardless of what they did, I was going to leave negative feedback.

I do feel they are misleading and borderline fraudulent in saying this is a "98.00 retail" knife, but I'm not sure of that either. I asked them for proof that this knife is sold for $98.00 and they didn't provide any, so I can only assume that was not true but couldn't swear to it.

My feedback said the truth, and nothing more. Be careful! Read the product description carefully! If I had listened to my own (too late) advice, I would have missed an important lesson for a measly $20.

(So I guess I should thank them!)

The last thing I want is a a cheap POS knife. It will end up in the trash if he does ship it to me as it isn't worth sending back for a refund that won't include his shipping charge.

I was doing a bit of reorganization this last weekend and came across two knives that appear to be Benchmade custom Bali-Songs just banging around in a drawer. My initial reaction was, "What are those doing just banging around in a drawer. They should be in the safe." But then I remembered them. They are not actually what they appear to be. They are counterfeits. I bought them knowing that full-well. I bought them because I wanted to have them as examples.

My sainted father used to say, "Nothing is ever completely useless; it can always serve as a bad example."

So, this latest purchase of yours can be the knife that you use to demonstrate what cheap knives are like. It can be your bad example.

Personally, I'd display it right on top of your monitor as a reminder to you to do your homework before clicking on that "bid" button.

POS knives are great for practicing your sharpening skill.
Live and Learn grasshopper. We've all been taken by greed.
From the book, American Gods, by Neil Gaiman
(an AWESOME book, BTW)
"You can't swindle an honest person."
I'm not sure that's an exact quote, but it's true,
con men and swindler feed off of people's greed.

Nope, you certainly shouldn't thank them. For not refunding the shipping they deserve the negative feedback. To keep the money paid for shipping when nothing has been shipped is tantamount to theft.
