  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Please tell me I scored!

somebody loved his Beckers a lot it looks like, and a thieving GF sold them on him, hopefully she's been dumped or forced to buy more :)

course, she was also "ripped off" most heartily, serves her right for not knowing what she was selling :>

I think you need tom understand more about how the law and pawn shops operate.

I wasn't trying to make a legal argument. I think we can all agree that what's legal is the lowest measure of what's acceptable behavior. Just pointing to the obvious possibility that there may be some bad karma that comes with these knives

She said her boyfriend sent her in with them and told her they were worth about $100 a piece. They looked pretty desperate like they needed money for dope or something. I showed her what they were selling for on fleabay. So I don't feel like I "ripped her off."

grin - :) just kidding...

take them apart and wipe them down with bleach, then oil. no evidence they are stolen.

pawn shoppes and some gun resellers ARE rip off artists. case in point: kid buys an AK for $650, 3 weeks later, a local shop offers the kid $25 for it. *25* dollars. other good local shop gave him closer to 50-75%, given it was used, sold for a bit more, but quite a bit less than $650, sweet.

She said her boyfriend sent her in with them

was in a game stop a while ago, and this scary skanky woman came in with her pals. looked like they were hoping to make money for drugs...

the woman said OUT LOUD, she just took her bf's son's video system and all games, plus a pile of dvds. the shop said "well, no, there's a 30 day cooling off period, in case they are stolen, and they wouldn't be buying ANY of the came anyway, as they were old/cheap... so how about $30 for the lot?" SHE TOOK IT!!! wow. she left. i said $5 for the games you didn't want anyway? they said get lost :)

I wish I had your luck, man. Good find! I repeat what has been said before, let's see 'em in use!

You lucky dog! Those knives don't even have the finish worn, not that it comes off easy, but still. If one divides 50$ by 3, even though the bigger blades are worth more, you get 16 2/3. Thats even less than ONE Bk 13.

You got an awesome deal unless those are murder weapons, in which case start cliching them immediately to remove any evidence haha.

This is one reason I have always preferred to buy my knives new when I can unless it's from a buddy, you really never know how the person got them or what they used them for...probably being paranoid but you never know.

YUP, your crazier than a shit house rat. :)

To the OP:

Good deal. I used to hang out in a pawn shop my friend managed, and if you tried to buy something out from under him, he would shoot you, and then kick you out of the store....LOL.

Seriously, though, what are the odds on that score!

Yea I didn't want any bad blood with the pawn shop so I asked him and made sure he was ok with it before I made the deal. He said it was fine with him.

Yes, the odds were in my favor that day!

I really appreciate the offers guys but no surprise....I am loving these blades. I just finished stripping the BK7. I will post pics tomorrow.

Hey man, you don't know what someone uses their knives for before you get them in your hands, especially a complete stranger. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy them either if I had been in that pawn shop...I would just wipe them down thoroughly with bleach at least like Bladite suggested (and maybe clich them just for the heck of it). Who says it has to be creepy because they killed someone with them? Maybe they just do really weird stuff with their things?
