Please tell me it gets better

Someone's gotta swim against the current, so it might as well be me. I have a passion for knives. Not a passion for a manufacturer. I say, if you've got a real passion for knives, don't limit yourself to just one manufacturer or maker. There's a whole lot of good knives out there. I'm slowly trying to acquire at least one knife from all of my favorite makers. One thing I've learned by doing this, is exactly what I do and don't like in a knife. I've got an ESEE 6. Wouldn't mind an Izula ll sometime down the road, but I'm certainly not into the collect em' all thing. Someone told me when I first starting posting in this forum, that ESEE knives are not pokemon cards. You don't have to collect them all.

I think the small number of similar designed blades for unique purposes, along with moderate price, leads to an ability to get all the ESEE blades. I've got many knives from across the board. I never considered getting an entire line until I got into ESEE. Not saying everyone needs to. It's just how it happened for me. Getting into barkies now, and I sure as hell ain't going for the whole set there.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I just wanted to make sure that I was not completely insane. Just sick, right?

I think the family here is what makes ESEE so kick ass

Yeah I hear you....I really like Becker and have a Fatty Game Warden. I have several knives from several manufacturers.

The knives are great quality at a great price with great service and has a wonderful community to shoot the breeze with.

They aren't pokemon cards, but some people like to buy things they like and support companies who treat them well. I also like the fact the product line is fairly small and straight forward - there aren't 3 variations of each style that are produced in a limited manner/special edition to jack the prices up and get people on waiting lists. I like supporting a company that I feel is in it for the right reason and doesn't hose the people who enjoy their products.

It's just nice to buy from a company that interacts with it's customers and who obviously gives a shite!

to the OP, good luck. the above statement is exactly why i just ordered my 4th ESEE in 2 weeks. its rare to find a company who can not only make high quality products, but maintain their integrity and relationships with those who purchase them. even if ESEE knives weren't as great as they are i would still be tempted to patron them simply for the customer service aspect.

I got to carry a PJLT for a while that was one of my close friends from my old unit. That was a $1300 knife. I would put my 5 up to that one any day and would probably out perform it. Plus you can pretty much buy the entire ESEE line for that price!

This feeling......it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with.....it doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear.....and it absolutely will not stop......EVER......until you own every style of knife available and some serrated versions.

LOL, Very true!

It is important to take care of where the knife addiction takes you, stay on the path of carbon steel & plain edges or you will be in trouble.

Here are some important quotes to keep in mind:
“Serrated is the path to the dark side. Serrated leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
"But beware. Stainless, Serrated, infi. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

My girlfriend would get a kick out of this if she understood knife stuff.....a huge fan.

Her pink izula's on the way, and she will definitely be happy with the carbon and plain edge and probably won't feel the pull towards the dark side.
