Please tell me why!.....Please read!

Blilious,

Are you confusing Remulak and Romulan?

Keninshiro,

Apa kabar? You're one of the few who are interested in knives? I found that hard to believe, as I know for sure that SEAsia is very much a Knife region. Look at Dannyc from Phillipines, and at one time Titan and one lady whose name I can't remember. I for one am an Indonesian, though I got a scholarship to study in US. Though I can safely say that I'm the only Indonesian here, I don't feel lonely.

I can say that my family is a knife family. My father collects traditional knives and swords (krises, parangs, and goloks) and so does my brother. All are martial artists. I'm the only one who's got the appetite for modern Western knives though. A common interest in knives is what draws us here, and that is a strong foundation indeed. So don't feel alienated, keep those posts coming!

Hi Folks! Thank you very much for your replies. It just didn't occur to me that i'm accepted here......i now know I do, Thanks again!

Phil,
no worries! I'm not offended by your thread, everyone has the freedom of speech especially here in cyber space.

Frantium,
Indonesian? Maybe you can drop by when you return?....No, i'm sure i'm not the only one that like knives here in MALAYSIA. BUT! I don't consider them knife nuts since they chose to hide or even deny that they have any! I did manage to contact some Singaporean collectors but they are just collectors.....don't even see them here!

I've enjoyed BF ever since it started and learned much from it. Indeed Mike and Spark have done a great job to keep 5000+ members in order. Please accept my apologies for doubting my presents here.

Thank you all!

Glad you are feeling more welcome, you should.
I wouldn't let the number of responses be a way of telling if the folks here like you or not, usually, for me, it's wether or not I'm interested in the subject, and if I can help out in some way I try to do so.
Hotmail accounts? Don't worry too much about those things, if I am about to venture some money with someone I usually check the Good/Bad/Ugly forum and see if they show up there with good or bad responses, if they don't show up at all, then I resort to previous sales and contact those that have had dealings and see how they made out, that's rare though, as they usually are covered in Jackyl's `GoodGuys' Post which should calm some nervous people.

Again, glad to see you are feeling better!

Keninshiro,

I do have a plan to visit Kuala Lumpur, probably this summer. I always passed over your country on my way home anyway. Three times I've been there, but those were transits, and I never walked out beyond the airport

. About knife nuts, my sentiment exactly, I feel that it ought to be more of us out there. In Indonesia there are a lot of people who are qualified as knife nuts because it's just the way the people live there. Knife here, knife there. But for some reasons it's just so natural for them to have many knives and they don't make a big deal of it. Of course home computer is only beginning to enter their lives (only about 15% of the 200 million people have ever touched computers) so I don't hope to see fellow Indonesians here soon. Fortunately, I live in Arkansas at the present, and in case you don't get it, it's Knife Heaven

.

About responses. Whenever my post doesn't generate many responses, I feel either I don't convey the message properly, or forumites are not interested in my topic, or they don't know what I'm talking about. Of course I also have to fight this beast called English everyday, so it may be caused by some language barrier too. I feel satisfied if someone answers my query, I don't even expect to see tens of people giving me the same answer over and over. Probably if they add a little information here and there.

Frantium - Yup, it could be the English i use does not covey the question/s correctly/clearly or maybe the subjects is no interest to anyone OR maybe it's the shape of my head....LOL

I agree there's not enough of Asian knife nuts who would stand up and speak for one self. In Malaysia, unfortunately; knife's only place(in general public's point of view) is either in the kitchen, out camping or used by triads, thives and so forth! Sad isn't it? Knives are never regard as a tool or an art form. Instead, they are expendable, feared, work horse piece of steel that is not respected, honoured and only called upon when it's needed. It's like armies, called upon when the country needs protection but judged as killing machines when all is in peace. How easily forgotten.......

Anyway, Do visit Malaysia when you stop by. Email me and i'll be your tour guide.

Troy - Thank you for your support!

G2 - Thank you too for your effort to make me feel more "at home" then ever!

Again, Thank you all for the support. I understand now that the length of the post does not matter but what the contents of the replies are, even if there's only 1 or 2.

ERIC.
