Plow Steel and Bone

Finally after being stuck on hawks for a while I finished up a knife. Forged from an old spring tooth cultivator plow. Shin bone for a handle. Mild steel for the bolster.

I should have known you was fudgin' when you told me" I don't do well on knives ". Great looking little blade. I like!

Those just forging marks, Stuart , or is that the internal steel composition?
Bruce, Those are not forging marks. You can't even feel them when you run your finger over them. It is the cold bluing and then bleach soak.
 
GREAT looking knife Stuart !! I love that bleach/blued finish, absolutely love it ! If you get the chance do you think you could briefly run down the process ?
 
Thats one of the nicest loking "period type" knives I've seen, and that goes for the blade and the bone.
