I have dry beechwood for handle, is it a big problem if its not stabilized? And can i add something to reduce moving?

From what I have researched on woods for handles, Beech should be stabilized. But, I wouldn't say any wood HAS to be stabilized, as many woods were used way before stabilizing came about and made great handles, it'll just make a much better handle/last much longer. I don't know what would act like stabilizing without actually stabilizing. Maybe somebody with more info will chime in.

Beech is not the best choice. Its not very stable. If you dont want to use knife blocks, oak or maple are better bets, but there are lots of sources for low cost exotic wood scales, as low as 5 dollars.

Aaaand im in Serbia, so other woods are hard to find xD looks like i go for mycarta 😄

Look for Olive wood. YOu are close enough to the Mediterranean there should be some around. That or laburnum wood. Both make amazing handles and grow in the area.

I will try to find some cherry. Do you know something about magnoliya? Im looking at one broken by storm and children.
