How do i straighten this plunge line. The other side is straight. This side is always wavy.

Yep, file guide. Install the file guide on the blade and place butted up against the edge of the running belt, start with the belt riding gently on the bevel closer to the edge and carefully add pressure towards the top of the plunge while at the same time feathering away from the file guide. Just walk it up until it blends in. Do the side you have trouble with first then match on the side with which you have better control. It's a feel thing. You'll get it.

The other way is to run your belt over the edge of your platen by 1/8-3/16". Carefully push your plunge into the edge of the belt. The belt will follow along the bevel and curl into the plunge, removing material there. This way you can push that plunge line back a bit to even it with the other side. Running the belt over the edge of the platen also helps to get the nice rounded radius at the top as well. You're doing a good job.

I use a slightly more time consuming method. I have a granite surface plate with a radiuses edge. I put a file guide on the blade and spray glue the granite, fixing a sheet of the appropriate grit sandpaper, hanging over the edge by about 1/4 inch. Then I run the blade against the plate, using the file guide to ensure evenness with both sides of the plunge. be sure to put pressure back towards the plunge and not up on the blade or you will cut a groove on the blade flat.

Viola! even, smooth plunge lines.

If I recall this was a trick nick walker posted on a youtube video.
