Rex is supposedly more brittle than cruwear and hap 40.
Hence supposedly better edge retention.

IME Cruwear and hap 40 perform better than Rex 45 because I have experienced micro chipping in Rex 45.

Thanks for the info! I have the REX 45, Cruwear and S45VN PM2s, and this goes in line with my intended purposes for each. The exclusive REX with the copper scales from Spyderco was meant to be a "gentleman" PM2, kind of a pure cutter. The Cruwear is the "tough" one that I'd take into anywhere with dirt or grit, like hiking, and the S45 seems general use, somewhere in the middle. Still must get more real world experience with these knives, all experience is still relatively new!

I pick my knife more on what I'm feeling like sporting that day more than anything else.
