PM2 CTS-20CP possible counterfeit

The fact that it has the uneven jimping grind make it real. Like other owners of the 20cp pm2 had noted, the real thing had uneven jimping. It's sad that Spyderco let it out of factory like that, but in this case, it authenticated your knife. I had to buy a set of cheap miniture diamond files to make the jimping nicer.

Looks real to me. There are some pieces from that run that have pronounced surface grind marks. I have 5 of the CTS-20CP models and they are all a bit different.

I had a couple models from the second BBS M390 run, and the G10 pattern and blade grinding varied slightly between the two. Both came directly from BBS, too. So I wouldn't worry too much about variance.

Just curious - OP, does it have marks on the liner, like these:

F&F wouldn't worry me as long as the correct machining marks are in place.

That appears to be the starting and stopping point of where the liners are cut. That has been present since the Para2 first came out. Some people barely picking up a Para2 for the first time are noticing them and tend to panic a bit.

Yep, that's why I specifically brought those up - if a different process is used for the fake Para 2s, then I'd expect them to be missing. But if they're present, I'd be pretty satisfied that they're legitimate.

I've owned several sprint and exclusive Para 2s. They have all been exceptional knives, perfectly functional, and executed in interesting and awesome steels. They have all been less than perfect in terms of fit and finish, but I don't care--they work. They work marvelously. That's why I keep coming back to Spyderco.

Do you have couple of red letters at the end of Edge-U-Cation ?

Yes, the "www" is in red, on all 5 pages for each knife. The same goes for the telephone and fax, the first letter is in red.
