No "deal", just an artifact of the method used to cut the liners out of a sheet of steel, but occasionally someone decides that a small notch that can only be seen by looking inside a knife's handle is a "defect in workmanship".

Totally. Didn't mean anything negative by it. I just noticed them and wondered if there was a story.

Yeah. I realized this guy had no clue. I actually buy a lot on eBay but not much Spyderco. Im always very cautious I was just unfamiliar.
