i love my pm2 in s110v. i havent even thought about sharpening it after months of cardboard and plastic banding abuse.

Congrats on the new knife, and congrats on the sharpening! Always satisfying making a dull knife sharp, especially when people talk about the difficulty to do so (s110v).
Now the real question... which spidie next? Haha
I just use the sypderco sharpmaker's fine and superfine ceramics on my s110v. I do about 6 passes a side after a day of use. Am I actually sharpening it or is it keeping it's original edge? While not on topic your comment made me curious if I'm doing it right. My S110V PM2 is one of my favorite edc Knives. Holds an edge forever and is easily maintained by stropping in my experience. Sharpens up perfectly on the wicked edge too.
Maxamet will give you better edge holding, but much worse corrosion resistance. It's also going to cost a good bit more whenever it does come out.
I'm thinking on upgrading my EDC from Tenacious. It is very nice and solid folder but the steel is mediocre.
So, considering two supersteels -- s110v or Maxamet, there is no Paramilitary 2 in Maxamet; should I go with current PM2 s110v offering or wait for one with Maxamet blade or just buy Manix 2 in Maxamet?
And how would you rate these steel types compared?
Thanks a lot.

Nice patina forming on this one!
I read your comment and would like to know where I can get those high grit Dia. stonesYah . . . I used to think ceramic as in CERAMIC was hard . . . right . . . then these guys taught me some stuff. One of those things they finally hammered through my slow moving mind is :
Vanadium carbides are harder than ceramic sharpening stones.
You may be pushing around (burnishing) the matrix of metal that contains the vanadium carbides and getting an edge that whittles but it tends to be temporary and frail in my first hand experience.
Get diamond stones, you can even get them up to 8,000 grit, and don't look back.
Makes a difference.
I have carried and sharpened both S110V and S35VN, even though you did not put it as one of your choices I would highly recommend the S35VN. Holds a great edge and is much easier to sharpen. I would also stick to the PM2 over the Manix 2, They are both in my rotation and I will say that the PM2 is much easier to close one handed. The spring on the Manix is very stiff and takes a long time to break in.
What is nice about your choices is that the are all great choices one thing I highly recommend is to get stainless steel. M4, Maxamet, 52100 etc. have a tendency to rust and need to be oiled all the time.
Whichever you get I hope you enjoy it I have 8 PM2's and I love them all.
I had 12 at one time. I sold a bunch of knives including 6 PM2's so that I could acquire some new knives. Guess what, one of the new knives was a PM2 in CTS204P. I just can't get away from them and I also have a bunch of Manix2's in both sizes and all three models of the Domino. I guess you can say that I am hooked. So me having 3 PM2 and wanting more isn't an odd thing?
My Blurple S110V PM2 is one of my, if not the, favorite knife I own.
