Lucky enough to score my first PM2 as a red M390 thanks to an awesome friend on the forum! I see half the pictures if not more posted have a non spydie clip, and half are stock. Thoughts? Which ones do you recommend?

I like the factory clips on some models. But most of my Spydies have deep ride clips, so they can, well, ride deep. Like Harleys and Jeeps, with your knife, there are multitudes of parts, so you can pretty much put whatever you want on them.

Nice score for a first PM2!

PM2 is my most used knife. I tried couple of different styles of deep carry MXG clips on my PM2s. Initially I liked them. The knife carried real nice.

But over time, I reverted back to the factory clip. One PM2 at a time. More comfortable in hand, especially with prolonged harder use. Easier to grab the knife, when I have it IWB or in front pocket while sitting or squatting. I like the look of it much better.

I still use deep carry clips on couple of other knives, but not on the PM2 anymore.

Thank you! Yup, was fortunate to make a friend with a big heart, and barely marked up the 2nd one he ordered. First Christmas present daddy has gotten in a long time!

and thanks all! Gonna check out some of the deep carry’s as it seems 50/50 on get em or don’t.

I like the factory clip in the tip down configuration. At least with a bigger handle, like the pm2. It seems more natural, but I also seem to be in the minority.
Most prefer tip up for the pm2.

It really just boils down to whether you want deep carry or not.

For deep carry, I really like the Casey Lynch clip on the PM2, but they're practically impossible to get anymore. I was lucky enough to get one, and it lives on my S35VN PM2.

For standard carry, I really like the factory Spyderco clip (in my opinion, the best non-deep carry clip around).

I prefer the factory clip, and I leave it where the factory intended it to be. I've owned a few knives with deep carry clips. Where I live there is no reason to hide the knife completely and it is easier for me to pull it out with the standard clip.

But if the buyer wants to move the clip around to suit their preferences then that is their right. There is some small risk when you start messing with the factory screws and a few people have trouble with it. And please don't swap the clip, change your mind, and try to sell the knife as new.

What happened to Casey? I have a couple of his clips, and have thought they're the best deep carry option around, but have been out of the game awhile. The PM2 in my pocket, by the way, is clipless by choice.

I would suggest you position the clip to your preferred orientation and try the stock clip for a couple weeks see how you like it then revisit the idea of after market clips.

I like deep carry clips but also like the stock Spyderco clips. My PM2 wears an aftermarket and i think that knife carries a bit better with one.

YMMV however. Buy one and if you dont like, I'm sure you could find a taker here for it.

He's still around. He's actually improved his clips by making the hole just a hair larger so it's easier to get a torx driver in there to install. In my opinion the Lynch clips are the best, I have them on all my Spydercos. I think the MXGs look like crap and they are a copy of Casey's clips.

I wasn't a fan of the standard clip; but the scales I put on my s35vn (I can't add vn to the end of something without thinking it's a flashlight) weren't compatible with deep carry clips. I decided I don't mind it; but I still prefer deep carry.
