PM2, swap clip, or leave clip?

He's still around. He's actually improved his clips by making the hole just a hair larger so it's easier to get a torx driver in there to install. In my opinion the Lynch clips are the best, I have them on all my Spydercos. I think the MXGs look like crap and they are a copy of Casey's clips.

How would one go about getting one of these clips? I have tried for months on BHQ with no luck.

I like the factory clip in the tip down configuration. At least with a bigger handle, like the pm2. It seems more natural, but I also seem to be in the minority.
Most prefer tip up for the pm2.

You are not alone. There must be a reason they ship that way right.....? I prefer all my knives that are over three inches to be tip down. easier for me to deploy.

For the OP. I do like deep carry clips especially for knives I carry at work. Weekends dont matter to me the stock clip is just fine. Personally I dont want a lot of knife sticking out of my pocket for people to see. Congrats on the score of the Red PM2.

Good to know he's still around. I can't speak for the others, but Casey is a class act and has earned my business indefinitely.

I wasn't a fan of the standard clip; but the scales I put on my s35vn (I can't add vn to the end of something without thinking it's a flashlight) weren't compatible with deep carry clips. I decided I don't mind it; but I still prefer deep carry.

I'm a Vinh owner myself and know what you mean, lol.

Glad to hear that he's still around and making improvements. I certainly didn't mean to imply he was ever 'gone', just that demand for his clips far outpaces the supply. I'd love to buy 2-3 more of his clips but BHQ has been out of stock forever. I'm signed up for 'in-stock' notifications but it has been quiet for a long, long time. If Casey is still selling direct, I'd like the chance to buy a couple more...

Casey says he is still sending some through bhq but mostly he deals direct. I just got one a little while ago and i am about to order a couple more. You can go to his website to get his email or here it is:
thelastleaf1 a t g mail dot com (and of course i broke it up to keep from the robot's from attacking him).

As for the op question, i use Casey's clips except for my primary work knife, i use a stock clip. It lets the knife stick out of the pocket alot so it is easier to grab ahold of if i need to grab it easily (while wearing gloves, hands full, etc).

My folders, including my PM2s, live an urban EDC life, so it's deep carry clips for me - - Casey's or the ones from MXG Gear.

If you need a deep carry clip, I’d highly recommend an MXG Gear clip. I’ve got them on all my Para 3’s. They really look great and the fit and finish is perfect.

While the big buzz was all about the Lynch clips a while ago, and for good reason since they’re nicely made clips, now there are definitely other options that are just as good; if not better. The number of styles and options that MXG offers is huge.

I'm surprised that Spyderco hasn't offered a factory option besides the wire clip by now with there being obvious demand. I'd think putting these out as accessories like the beads and such and selling them through authorized dealers would be a big hit. They don't have to be fancy titanium and all that, leave that to the aftermarket.

i misted the boat on the M390,but have deep carry clips on most of my spderco's i carry,in a pinch the stock clips do okay i think!and better then nothing(no clip)

I always put a deep carry clip on the PM2. My favorite is the bead blasted one from "blade4sell" on Ebay over the MXG ones because its the only one I know of that is recessed/countersunk for the screw heads, so the screws don't catch on your pocket like other deep carry clips. I also really like the finish because it fairs better than paint. The spit one shown here has less drag, like the wire clip.
