pm2 VS manix 2

I've never handled a Manix but had at least 8 PM2's at one point (down to 2 now) so I'll vote that.
For the reasons others stated: Thumb ramp/jimping, thin profile, carries better. It's an insane slicer.

I tend to favor thinner blade on folders and small medium sized fixed blades for cutting purposes. But if you plan on using one for Tactical purpose, I would lean towards the thicker blade of the two knives you are interested in. Both knives are awsome in my opinion, and serve well for all around usage. I am sure you will be happy with which ever knife you end up getting ~

I have tried both. The Manix 2 is my choice. I have carried one almost every day for the last 3 years. I love it. On PM2 I couldnt get used to the lock. The best bet would be to try both out side by side and see which one feels the best in hand.

+1 for the PM2 if you do plan to customize it. Reassembling a PM2 is a doddle and you can't put it together wrong, and AFAIK there are more ready-to-order parts for the PM2 than the Manix.

Also it's far and away Sal and Eric's best overall knife design, and it would be a cryin-ass shame for you not to own one.

Para2, definitely if you intend to customize.
If you decide Manix, get the XL. Best of the Manix series in my ever so humble.

Why do you own so many of the same knife? Makes no sense.

Compared to some, it's not so many at all. Wish I had more variants.

One reason is the different blade steels.
Another is different duty, eg: at work, leisure time, going out. Some are used unreservedly, some not so much, some are treated gently.

By the same token one could also ask why I have at least 30 folders.
And I would reply, because I like them, and they are so useful.

I have a pm2 and god do I wish that I had a manix. When I was in the store they didnt have the right manix so I got the pm2, not sure wh becuause I didn't particularly want it either. I guess that's what happens when you go to a knife store. My name is RevDH and I am an addict.

I bet you ll grow to like the pm2. I have!

Everyone is different. I have both and prefer the Manix either S110v lightweight or G10 with S30v.

Both are awesome knives. I have 3 Manix' and 1 PM2. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about on the customization thing. It's too easy to swap scales on the Manix. Just do one side at a time, you can even leave the liner in place. With either knife, you'll want to be cautious removing the scale near the lanyard tube. It can be a tight fit, though my Manix were not nearly as tight a fit as the PM2. I never did fully disassemble that one.

Just readed this whole topic, think I'll just buy both.
You won't regret it!
I have 2 Manix 2's and 3 PM2's(not including the clone FG, until I could find my real FG sprint).

I enjoy both knife's and wouldn't want to go without either. I just grab for one in the morning and go!
I open and close them atleast 100 times thru out the day. The locks become second nature and quick..

Just a couple of personal observations:

The PM2 is thicker at the base, but the Manix is thicker at the edge.

Personally I find the PM's choil more useful than the Manix's.

I find that the PM2 is more practical and useful at everyday EDC cutting tasks than the Manix. The Manix makes for a great beater though if you're going to be a bit rougher with your knife.

I gotta give this one to the Manix. That's just me, though.

Something about the ergos...damn thing just melts into my hand like if Eric designed it for me! :D
