PM3 or ?

Loved the PM2 but want something a bit more sheeple friendly. Is the PM3 truly just as good, respected, and awesome as the PM2 or is there a better "small PM2" potentially from another brand?

The weight, the flick, the lock, the grip, all felt pretty awesome to me, just looking for something with a 3in blade.
 
Spyderco Sage5 with CF and Compression Lock. It's more compact and classier than Para3 but still a 3" blade.

For something even smaller, slicier and sheepier try the Spyderco Chaparral Raffir Noble.
 
Some people are afraid of any knife a person carry's, but I think most people would probably be afraid of a one handed opener of any size before they would a traditional folder.
My recommendation would be to maybe still get the pm2 if you really like it, then pair it with something like a Victorinox recruit, vic secretary, or even a smaller knife like a case peanut which will be extremely steeple friendly as well as just having a classic kind of cool to it that can't be beat.
 
Why not try a Wolfspyder from Ray Mears in UK.
Same steel , neat design ,a locker , scandi grind and less than 3" blade.

Sad but true.

It was one of those scenarios, "we need to cut this tape at this meeting, jeez, what a bother, we've got to find a knife. Someone please run and get one or scissors."

"Nah, mate, we're good. Here."

You should have seen the look.

Yeah, it just a tiny folder too.

For something small, back on topic, might I suggest a brightly coloured delica or RAT-2? I have a nice one in pink and it still scares people. Or just get pink or friendly scales for your PM2, OP?
 
Sage 5 is great if you were going to buy the pm3 in s30v but wanted a "classier" looking option. If you wanted more exotic or "super" steels, wait on the s110v pm3 and sprint runs coming up.
 
Sage 5 is a easy knife to compare, Same lock, same blade size "ish". Similar price. Blade shape is biggest difference. Both are g10 , sage has peel ply CF.
I would also consider the yojimbo as the handle is the same size as the delica which and it has a compression lock. Action is also excellent. I prefer it over the para2.
 
I like my PM2 but just like you I have looked for a more sheeple friendly option
I ended picking up a Delica 4
I have to say it is a winner and IMHO the best EDC I have
The small griptilian is a good option but IMO the Delica 4 is a better all purpose choice
