Pocket Anxiety!!!

Thanks guys for talking me down about my pocket anxiety. I found that some of my dress pants have a small change pocket inside the right hand pocket. So when I can I've been clipping my BM770 inside of that pocket. So far that feels the most secure. I don't check quite as much.

When that pocket isn't available. I have been alternating between leaving it loose in my right pocket or clipping it to the pocket(clip out). With the 770 it is barely noticeable and looks like a pen clipped to your pocket. However, those options still worry me. My latest anxiety comes when I go to the bathroom. I keep thinking the knife is going to come off into the toilet. How's that for sharing.

Thanks again...JT

Thanks for sharing JT....

:D

I don't worry about things falling, everything is secure, I wonder if I might need a crane to get pants back to where they were.

HUGE cordless phone
Huge ring of keys
Multitool - new kydex sheath! It's great!
Knife on belt - usually something large
Knife clipped to pocket - my baby, a Sebenza
Knife in pocket - a small slip joint
Huge wallet - ala Razor
And sometimes a fixed blade

Luckily I work in a factory, I don't tuck my shirt, and no one can even see anything but the phone. :)

Clips do scare me, but I haven't lost a knife for...hmm...years.

rickj, glad I could help out :)

If you are going to order a sheath from TAD, be sure to take a look around the site. Patrick York Ma has great taste in gear, he gets some of the best stuff. I also reccomend the pouches he carries from NewSun Gear for cell phone/pager/PDA/belt wallets, very well made and nicely designed.

The 'little pats' as Paul calls them very quickly become unconsious. A week ago, to my horror, a little pat turned up no Sebenza. :( I had used it in the morning before work, rinsed it, and laid it to dry on the stove...whew!

Just went through the same terror a few minutes ago. While reading this thread, patted the pocket to make sure my beloved sebbie was in place, and it wasn't -- after tearing through my room for a few minutes, realized that it was clipped to a different article of clothing than usual. Crisis averted. :)

pocket anxiety is a good thing. It teaches you the habit of checking your important equipment (ie: knife) to make sure it's still there. I check my knife hundreds of times a day but completely unconsciously....

It was often my case as well. I solved it by removing my keys, cell phone and knife at the same time and keeping them at the same place when at home. Then when I leave I cannot forget anything.

i carry my crawford Ti kasper every day - i would say it would cost about $450 to replace it - i dont take any special care w/it, but, then again i have always taken care of my things - dont worry about losing it - the only time i worry about stuff like that is when biking, and then i am more afraid to drop it so then i carry my CRKT polkawski/kasper companion which has the same handle profile as the C/KFF or sometimes carry my SIFU - i guess you just get used to it after a while - but i admit i do a 'pat down' several time a day lol
and also anothe tip for knives w/Ti handles - carry only the knife in the pocket, not keys, etc or your knife will be all scratched up very very quickly ........
