Hey Guys, I just added another knife to the rotation a #54 Tidioute Moose. It's really a nice piece that is ready for work. The half stops are really nice and add to the overall functionality of the knife. The 1095 took a nice edge and got razor off of Kevin's strop. I have only been using it for the last couple of days, but after some oranges it's getting a nice patina on the blades.

The Moose is a pattern that has always interested me, I just never got around to seriously trying it until now. I'm loving GECs rendition.

We have a lot of guys who show off the pen blades and jack knives, but I want to see the big guns.
Please post some pics of your Pocket Beasts, anything 4'' or bigger would count.

More of the Moose.

Very Nice. I have quite a few 54 big jacks and a harness jack. They are beasts for sure :)

Edit to add a couple pics

Today I'm carrying this. You know it's there and that's somehow a comfort in this life.

Kevin, if you ever want rid of that big jack let me know, I will do anything short of kill your neighbor's dog to get it.

Dave, there is just something about a 110 huh?
Great knife, looks ready to go hunting.

I really like the GEC 53/54 frame knives. This is a dealer pic, but my knife. Will try to post pics of my others later.

Here are a few pocket beasts in stag.

Here's a Scagel barlow. A true monster, with a 1/8" thick blade.

Johnny, when you say 4", you talking blade or frame?

Here's an odd duck for consideration.

That's an Opinel #9 with the blade cropped down to a drop point and the handle snugged up and thinned.

Closed it comes in at 4 1/2". Blade is in the 3 1/2" territory, just shy of the Buck 110 (but a much more useful EDC blade).

Here it is closed.

Actually, I've driven the EO notch deeper in it's current incarnation.

Been interesting to pocket this knife in rotation with my Buck 500 and Buck 110. There's no denying your carrying something with the Buck 110. It's a beast in every way; length, thickness and weight.

The Buck 500 is still on the heavy side and is still on the long side at 4 1/4" closed but it's noticeably thinner and as a result, carries well.

The Opinel is feather light, but at just a tick longer than the Buck 500, is actually more noticeable in the pocket. I can feel it riding against my leg like I do with the Buck 110. Just one of life's little problems when you have thighs like the Old Spice guy (ahem).

Here they are together.

Cool, that's a nice knife. I thought I remembered a scale picture of it. Would you be able to get a shot next to a 54?

Inexpensive Pocket Beast Whittler. 4.5" closed. This one requires a belt to keep your pants up:eek:

Cool thread

Here's a quick picture of a GEC #36 in crimson grizzly cut bone with a Victorinox Champ and a GEC #53 this morning:

It is a good sensation to feel the knife in pocket throughout the day

My two largest folders are a Queen Mountain Man and Lloyd Shadow. In fact, the Queen is a bit too beastly for me to pocket carry, so I have arranged to sell it to another forum member.

The Lloyd is 5/8" shorter at 4" closed, and a bit thinner as well.
