Pocket Bushman, my first bad experience with Cold Steel

I have one. I picked it up as a backup knife for use in a kit. I'm happy withit and it is very strong for a folder.

For a stainless the blade sctualy performs very well taking an edge easily and holding it relatively well.

For the price it is a good funtional blade.

I think there's a lot of variation between them, some being much stiffer than others. Mine isn't too bad. With some use, it loosened up to the point I can open it without aggravation, but closing is still hazardous. Take your time and close it carefully or you will get hurt. That's not my idea of a good knife for the wilderness.

Mine is just as stiff as when I first got it. Couldn't open it one handed at first, but had to learn how. Also, if you close the knife the way it says in the instructions and no other way, including how Lynn shows in the youtube video then it's not dangerous at all. :)

Yes, it is. My hand has slipped when I was sweating and tried it. That lock can take a lot of force to pull back, and gripping against that isn't trivial.

I have one, just dug out a old bullet from a rail road tie for a young boy on a hike today. It was a black powder one.The knife held up great and the boy is stoked. That's worth twenty four bucks.

yes, a great safe knife!

I got one when they first came out I hated it so much I gave it away to some poor guy here on the forums.

I would advise against getting this knife because closing it is dangerous. If you notice, the youtube video gives DIFFERENT directions than come with the knife!

Hmm. I've closed mine with sweaty hands before no problem, but maybe that's either because I have small hands or because I brace my fingers against the pocket clip when I close it. I guess it's one of those "your mileage may vary" situations. :)

That's exactly what I was afraid of when I first looked at that stupid ass lanyard, so I cut it off and never used it.Did it slip out of your hand when you were pulling on the lanyard to close it?
