Pocket Bushman Question?

I had 2, gave one away. Absolutely love it, but do prefer my recon 1 clipoints in s35vn for daily carry.

Love the pocket bushman, range boss is so light weight and very nice as well.

But, have pretty much gone to the recon 1 clipoint s35vn for every day, hiking bag, car carry blades. *currently have 5, 1 for my range bag, vehicle, pocket and 2 spares* all of these together cost less than most of my other blades.

I hunt, camp and fish regularly, as in 2 months a year total, sometimes more.

I've used all of the following regularly for several years.

2.5 recon 1s ='s 1 spyderco PMII in s45vn in price (and no noticeable user difference in toughness, sharpness etc.,)
3 recon 1s ='s 1 benchmade adamas which has better edge retention and toughness with the cruware but, again given what I do with my blades not enough of a difference and a significantly less durable lock - plus the s35vn is also stainless that allows substantially more abuse. *prior to the adamas I used my benchmade cqc7 in 154cm* love them all but choose recon 1
I dont buy boutique high end fidget knives, I use mine and honestly $300 plus for benchmade is too much for a daily hard use blade (im a poor)

I think the pocket bushman is like the AK47 of folders. It's kind of crude and stamped out, but the mechanism is dead-simple. Just a spring driving a beefy piece of steel forward and locking between the tang and a solid piece of rolled steel.

They can be finger guillotines if you aren't careful, and I recommend roughing them up so they aren't so slick, but for what they cost, they are really hard to beat.

I've had one for over 15 years. Never given me a bit of issue and only bit one once ;) I was trying to cut back some rose bushes in our yard and the blade slipped out of my sweaty hand as I was trying to open it. Not a massive bite, but I didn't do it twice ;)
