Pocket clip or no pocket clip?

For the last week I've been changing up my usual carry methods. I've been running a few of my thinner smaller knives without the pocket clip. As I seem to snag them on things at work and while doing other jobs around the house. Anyone else find this to be beneficial with smaller knives?

Generally I use pocket clips unless the knife in question is small, <3" blade or so.

I've taken to clipping my knives to the corner of my rear right pocket, and have been catching on fewer things.

I've thought about trying the back pocket carry. Just never got myself into the habit of doing it. I may try to start doing it more.

Little kershaws like the Leek and Scallion, no need for a clip. Al Mar Falcon, no clip. They ride nice.

Only small one I ever left the clip on was the Spyderco Baby Jess Horn. Worked too good as a money clip to take it off.

I like a clip as it makes it easy to get to and also lets me hold the knife well while keeping my fingers out of the blade path.

I like IWB carry if catching on things is an issue and find it essentially never gets caught while back pocket is still prone to catching or scratching things. It also worries me when sitting on leather that a weird movement may damage something expensive.

I've come up with a rule of thumb: my traditionals are less than 2.5 inches per city law and they go in my pocket when I am in the city and/or work; my modern, locking knives which are 3 inches or a little less are clipped in my front right pocket which I carry with me around the house, hiking or biking; and in the 4 inch range I carry my fixed blades in a sheath on my belt.

I took the pocket clip off of my small Sebenza tried carrying it in the CRK leather pocket sheath. I couldn't look at the knife without its clip and it kept sideways in my pocket. That was the end of taking the clip off a knife that comes with one.

I like pocket clips, and generally carry my knife clipped to my pocket. But, there are times when I will put my clipped knife in a leather slip sheath.

The knives I generally carry with no clip is my mini griptillian, 940, and rat model 2. They are just small enough that they dont feel awkward in my pocket.

Pocket clips are great and very practical when done right, not too tight or loose.
BUT since pocket clip carry considered open carry and can result in being arrested an prosecuted by cops, I no longer use them.
