Hi guys,

I just got a small sebenza 21 with micarta and I noticed that the pocket clip screw seems to be a bit long. It protrudes out the inside of the handle. Is this normal?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think that's normal. Mine isn't like that. Weird. Give crk a call and see if they can send you out a new one.

It's normal on the new ones, I noticed it on the the 5 small sebenzas that I have had that were made the past Couple of years. I sanded the screw down on two of them, and just let the others be. I was actually wondering about this myself, because my older sebenzas don't have this problem. It is also only the smalls. After looking at all of them, I think it is because the same screw is used for all clips. The large has thicker scales, so problem solved there. The clips on the older small sebenzas are flush with the slabs, making the screw fit perfectly. The newer smalls seem to have a slightly recessed clip, and that makes the end of the screw come out the bottom.

I would like to add that normal, yes, but it should not be. I would like the screws to be flush without sanding them but if that's the biggest sebenza problem I have then all is well!

Mine was born this year and looks the same with a slightly protruding screw.

My small insingo has that issue too, it surprised me a little, but it isn't close to hitting the blade. When I get a chance, I might file it down.

Well, I had to look at mine when I saw this (luckily I have my small damascus/micarta in my pocket today) and it's the same

I wouldn't think it would bother me, but it *really* bothered me on my Striders. I'd file it down, but in all honesty I don't think you should have to on a CRK. Just my opinion though. *shrugs*

so I emailed CRK and they told me that this is not normal. They will replace the long screw for a shorter one for $3 plus $2 shipping.

Why are they charging when they put in the wrong screw? If its not normal, they should send us the screws for free.

I agree, I figured that if enough of us complain to them, they might do just that.

This is sort of what I was guessing. They probably have pocket clip screws for large and small and it would be difficult for someone to tell the difference without them right next to eachother. It would be nice to have the correct length screw to replace mine, but I don't think I'm going to pay $5 for one, I'll just cut it down when I get a chance.

Hmmm, interesting, so they put the wrong screw in (apparently from this thread several knives), but they want to charge us to fix it, doesn't seem right to me either. I happen to have a dog paws small w/ me today and I it has the right screw (but the small Damascus/micatra I had the other day had a longer screw in it). I won't be paying to fix mine either, but I might end up cutting it down eventually...

Mine protrudes the same way. Doesn't bother me a bit, but that's just my personal opinion.

That doesn't sit well with me that they would charge for a screw, in which they messed up. Why not just send the screw out for free?
