I think the 4-way clip idea is great, but in fairness, most people have a preference for either tip-up or tip-down and are either right handed or left handed and therefore really only need one clip location as long as it matches their preference. So the demand for 4-way drilling may not be all that great.
I agree but actually think this argues for having multiple options not against it. People don't want to be able to switch to and fro, they want to get the configuration they prefer, and this often differs from what the manufacturer offers.
But it's a question of economics, the manufacturer has a known cost for drilling more holes, etc, versus the unknown factor, not just how many people prefer left/right/up/down but how many people would have bought in config x and WON'T if they don't get it? The JYD is a great example, some people would prefer a different config but bought it anyway. How many refused to buy because the config can't be customized?
