Well, I saw a thread about what is your EDC, so I thought, hmmm if I take into account all that I was carrying today, that adds up to quite a lot of things.

Some are carried in a small kit bag with various cables, thumbdrive and card reader, mostly the SAK's while the others ride on my person or in my coat.

Indecision may or may not be my problem ;)

The larger fixed blade is a Bradford USA Guardian 4 with a nice kydex sheath, just below that is the Guardian 3 wharnie that rides around my neck. I just had the Guardian 4 with me today to show a guy at work, most times it rides in my car.

The rest are, well the rest and fill up the pockets, but right now the two larger folders I can't leave one home, just yet, so I bring both the Southard and the Manix 2 lightweight in S110v along and a couple flashlights, a fisher space pen, an Opinel olivewood #10 slim, and a recent acquisition the Cases Seahorse.

So, yes, I may have a problem, folks at work have known this a long time, family, I think they feel I'm a lost cause :)

No room for a wallet, keys, and phone? You must open a lot of packages during the day!
Seriously though, I really like the look of the Opinel slim. I have a #9 Opinel and while I like the blade size, I find it a bit too bulky for the pocket but it has found a home in my toolbox as my lunchtime blade and gets more use than any other blade in my collection.

Yah, didn't include the peripherals like the wallet/keys/phone just more stuff like knives and lights mainly and a pen.

Each one has a separate thingy about them, especially the SAK's more tools than blades and as I say I feel it's duplicated by the two large folders, but just can't leave one home, got them both recently.

The Opinel is flat out sexy and sharp! a thin 1mm thick blade slices up pears and apples quite nicely at work. I had the #8's but find this #10 suits me better.

Seriously, "edc" is such a misleading term in many aspects because while there is my edc('s) that I keep in my pocket rotation, there are quite a few others I "carry" close by and easily accessible through the day at a moments notice.

Thank God I'm not a woman, I'd probably have a 2nd purse filled solely with different blades and a couple sharpening tools.

What term would you use other than EDC ?

This is a standard days totin at work , just realized I don't have my wallet in the pic so add that to the list .
Since this was taken I've been carrying a Dragonfly instead of the Delica .

I wouldn't use a different term, just saying it can be a bit misleading is all, as people often assume it to be just the one(s) they "carry" on their person, your standard edc types, be it a $500+ custom sebenza or a $8 mora, but every day we often carry (other) knives in our toolboxes, in our glove boxes and center consoles, clipped to our visors, in our lunch boxes, tackle boxes, laptop cases, backpacks, etc... Not to mention the other side of the coin, with many of us having EDC "rotations", is it really an " every" day carry, if you only carry it on the 2nd Thursday of the month, or with you gray pants vs. The one you carry with jeans?

Its a perfectly good, allbeit somewhat generic, widely accepted term, its just not 100% accurate in what it often refers to is all.

If I did have to coin a new (more accurate) phrase though, idk, maybe to go along with true "every day" carry knives, I'd incorporate more specific;

EDA (every day accessible)
vs.
PCR (personal carry rotational)

But no sense in reinventing the wheel here.

Great shot Gary. One thing is for sure, you won't have to worry about putting up with any single given day!

If I do a full pocket dump of what is on my person, this is typical:

Pen and keys are missing in this photo. Phone taking pic.

MT is in belt pouch.

This, plus my cell phone I just took this picture with and I forgot to add my wallet. The "gadget" is a pocket step counter to motivate me to move around throughout the day! Usually step counter in front right pocket, Knife in front right coin pocket, wallet back right, cell phone back left or just laying around and keys, front left or just out laying out with my phone or clipped to belt loop.

Gary those Bradfords are good looking indeed, that wharnie 3 is a beaut.

Nice guys and Ken, nice Dragonfly...looks a lot like mine ;)

And KingMC you can see more about the other styles they have of the Guardian 3 in my review thread here

I actually went to the Seattle Int'l knife show just last month and after drooling over the entirety of the Bradford table I ended up purchasing a Guardian3 FFG with the Nimbus finish and blue/black G10. Since it's my first EDC-sized fixed blade I'm not really used to carrying one, so I don't have it on me, but this was a picture I took of it on my last campout.

Thanks for sharing Gary. I threw in a pic of my off duty edc. The only exception is I only carry one handkerchief there are a couple in the picture

Figured I should probably post what I have on me right now while I'm at work. This is a typical setup, usually the quantity stays the same and the items get changed up for others of the same kind.

Gary, I do believe you're in cahoots with Bradford. I'm trying real hard not to pick up one of those Guardians (Not really) but I see them dang near every time I read your posts. Great pics as usual. Here's my dump for the day. Phone pics so not so great but this is what I had on me.

Thanks Ronnie, they are very nice knives!

And Kyle, that's a pretty cool looking small Southard you have there, looks like a handy blade shape.

Just a suggestion on a great way to carry the Guardian3, I often use it with the Allegheny pocket sheath from knives ship free. It works better for pocket carry than either the leather sheath or the kydex sheath from Bradford because it keeps the knife in a consistent and comfortable position in the pocket and I also carry a small light in the side pocket. Don't get me wrong the sheaths from Bradford are great but just not for pocket carry IMO. Here is a pic where you can kind of see part of the sheath.

Hmmm, interesting option. Never considered a sheath for in a pocket, but it's a good idea. I might have to get one to check it out. Thanks :)
