Pocket Dump! (or, What are you carrying?)

Here's what I got today. Plus a .45 and leatherman in the diaper bag :)

Glad to see I am not the only one that carries in a diaper bag. I keep an XD .40 4" in my Maxped Fatboy Jumbo that I have dubbed my tactical diaper bag.

Handkerchief in fairly clean condition. Short length of nylon braided cord. Eka compact friction folder. I am seldom without a knife or string.

If I am venturing off to town I will also have a wallet containing my drivers licence, other cards, cash and a spare key to my car. I sometimes also have a mini Bic lighter in the change pocket. Another common thing in my pocket is a plastic bag so I can pick up after my dog if I have to. Sometimes I carry a cell phone.

Dang. The sight of those hand guns struck something inside me. On one hand I would love to be able to legally own and carry a short gun. But part of the feeling wasn't good. It shows me that things seem to be a whole lot different in other parts of the world.

Nothing. Not even some lint.

At least I have some jeans on and wasn't caught in my boxers like Pitdog.

Yeah, I figure if I'm gonna have to have the diaper bag handy anyway I might as well put my piece in it. When I'm not carrying the diaper bag I usually pocket carry a Model 60. 10 rounds of .45 is greater than 5 rounds of .357 for sure.

forgive me, but I don't understand the "at home" carry. Are you people really hanging out in your house with all kinds of stuff crammed in your pockets?

I carry switchblades and other nasty stuff at home cuz I can ;)

When I wake up and get ready for the day I put on my pants. In which I put the things I will need for the day. The only things I will usually put on right before I walk out the door is my pistol and sun glasses.

Didn't your grandaddy teach you that if you had pants on you had a knife with you? :)

Hell, no! Who wears pants while they are at home!?

Thats what neck knives are for!

I don't empty my pockets when I come home. So in my case, the knives and flashlights that I carry that day, whether I went to the office or to the woods, stay in my pockets. But I do check and if necessary change EDC items when I leave home.

I'm from Memphis. We shoot people.

Seriously though, if you've lived in some of the places I have, after a while you just start carrying a gun 24/7 because you have to. When I lived in Memphis, everyone I knew there had either been robbed, car-jacked, house broken into, car broken into, etc. I mean EVERYONE, including myself, and those guys there don't just take your stuff, they kill you while they're doing it, not because they have to, but just to get a rep or prove they can. This has been the case in a lot of the areas I've lived in.

I usually have a ritter minigrip, my stack of cards with a rubberband, 2 sets of keys, a notepad & pencil, a bandaid, my cellphone, my glasses, a leatherman micra, a buck 521, and a 30" hank of paracord. That's what I'm carrying now, along with a bit of change.

I wear an older Suunto X Lander Military on my left wrist. "at home carry" is usually nothing, I stick my S&W 6946 in my belt and dump my pockets in a finnish carved bowl that sits on my desk so I don't lose anything, and can just 'grab and go'.
