These are a little bit of old school meets new school.
While they're very simple, there's a reason for everything. The steel is left very hard (61 C) and ground to a VERY thin edge, the steel has a forced patina for protection/lower maintenance (I think it looks neat, but that's not the reason for doing it), and the scales are very thin synthetics. They can roll around the hand into just about any position and be comfortable... no sharp edges, except for the edges.

I know they're not for everyone, but they are a purpose driven style (slides easily into a side pocket, back-pack, etc.).

The patina goes all the way around the knives-
This one is a bit different... it's a gift for a good friend. It's an all steel version, forged from wood-grain damascus
