hey everyone I'm looking for a small yet bright high quality flashlight for a edc! my preferances are 100 lumens but I'll take less, it needs to be small lightweight and relatively affordable ! also if the battery last a while thats a huge plus but not required! THANKS

I really like my 4sevens Quark123.

Other's to consider:

Olight T10
Fenix pd20
Nitecore Ex10

I think the Quarks are a superb choice. I have been running a passaround for them and they are great.

For pocket carry, you need the best combo of small size plus high output. For me thats the Fenix LD01. Very small, feeds on an AAA or rechargeable NiMH AAA that you can get at Walmart. Has multiple levels of output.

You can get a brighter light, but then you are talking bigger too. 80 lumens is more than plenty in a dark environment, unless you want to reach out at distance.

Trust me on this one.

Powernoodle is right about the LD01. Great light! Quark is about to introduce a new single AAA that's almost certainly going to unseat my LD01, though. The new "Preon" will have a clicky switch as an option and three very usable light levels 1/15/100 Out-The-Front lumens. It's also supposed to be "very affordable."

I'd recommend the iTP A3 EOS upgrade edition

Small, lightweight, VERY affordable, 3 mode lighting with 80 lumens for 1 hr at max and 1.5 lumens for 50 hours at min. Water resistant enough for me too.

This lil guy replace the Fenix E01 on my and my gf's keychain. It was between this and the Fenix LD01 a while ago, and the iTP won out for me due to price and long runtime on low. No problems with it yet!

Ooooh...that sounds good too :)

+1 I have many small lights, but always find myself carrying my A3 EOS. smaller than my pinky finger, and it has 3 settings so you can get long life, high brightness, or a mixture of the two. This little beauty is tied with my Victorinox Hiker for the best $20 I've ever spent, which is why I always carry both on my keychain.

I've been very pleased with my Fenix lights over the past couple years. Right now I'm carrying a L0D Q4 (approx 80m high, single AAA battery, newer LD01), but for a little more kick look at the (newer) LD01 which should do over 100lm on a single AA.

ill second the ITP a3 upgrade. The little thing rocks. 3 levels work out great too. Just last night used the lowest setting 15 lumens on a night time walk to blow off steam but the thing will throw out 80 lumens when you need it. Plus very cheap and available batteries. Not much bigger than a AAA. And KSF.COM has em for under $20

I like Surefire lights myself, so I'd go with either the E1B (1 CR123 cell, 80 lumens / 5 lumens) or the new (and not out yet unfortunatly) LX1.

How does the iTP compare strictly as a keychain light, to the Fenix 0E1? They are so close in price that that doesn't matter.

I know that I can easily EDC a stand alone flashlight, but I'm lazy and like to have something attached right to my keys. I keep a Fenix TK1 in my truck, and do like Fenix's quality so I was going to pick up the little Fenix but the iTP seems to have it outgunned by a long shot..

I use a photon light usually, which is fine for finding your way down a walkway, but wouldn't mind something a little better.

The ITP is pretty comparable to the fenix IMO. I have been running the ITP for 2 months now. the EO1 just has the one 10 lumen setting. Ok for getting around in an emergency but the ITP has up to an 80 lumen setting. It is however more of a flood type beam. Sorry on the quote before. The ITP is a low setting of 1.5 lumens for 50 hours, 18 lumens for 4 hours and 80 lumens for 55 minutes. The only other drawback is the TOP wont tailstand as a candle without grinding the end down.

ITP is basicly same lamp as Maratac AAA, my ITP is on the post package soon arriving. My Brother already has one. Its damn hard lamp to beat in that price category when looking small, yet powerful lamp.

Yeah, as scotsmanpride said the multi-mode sets it above the E01 (reason why I was looking at the LD01 in the first place), and it looks to have very good regulation as well. I love having the option of going from 1.5 or 18 lumens, to a bright 80 lumens, right on my keychain. I carry a Surefire E2DL in my EDC backpack, by my keychain is on me at all times, so I know I'll always have a bright light should I need it. The iTP also feels lighter to me, but that could be just my mind playing tricks, as I haven't weighed both side by side.

I think the extra few bucks for the upgrade from the E01 is well worth it .

ETA: Just checked specs, iTP A3 EOS is at 9g, compared to Fenix E01's 14g.

They look great, don't they? I'm bothered that the clips won't reverse. If it won't go on a ball cap, the 1AAA doesn't work for me. So far, I haven't been able to scrounge up a clip that will fit .6" diameter.
