Pocket Hobbit for Left handers

doubleedge
One of the advantages of the Rolling Lock is is is very easy to make a Left Handed Model. W emake about 5% of our folders in left hand and have a few southpaw Pocket Hobbits in stock. The slide bar and thumb stud is moved to accomidate people in their right minds.

I carry a standard "right handed" model Pocket Hobbit on my left side. I have no problems opening or closing the knife.

Thanks for your response. Not all manufacturers think of us when they design/manufacture their knives. Consider me a customer.

We have Left Handed Pocket Hobbits in stock as does Blueridge Knives (one of our distrubitors)if your local dealer buys from them. We make about 5% of all our folders in lefty configuration. If can't find a dealer who has one in stock you can call here (208) 265-8858 and we will help you

I have one left hand model in stock. Old style lock release, satin blade. $179.00.

Interesting thing about left hand models (anything), lots of people ask for them but few buy. I have left hand Benchmade Emersons and Spyderco Police models that I have tried to sell for a couple of years. I've had this PH for over a year. There is a reason that us dealers don't carry a lot of them. NOBODY BUYS THEM! Sorry,

Isn't it amazing how 2 cents worth of opinion takes up a quarter's worth of paper???

Please excuse the crayon. They won't let us have anything sharp in here.

I agree with what you are saying, if I was a dealer I wouldn't want to stock a bunch of left hand models hoping there would be a southpaw convention in town!! I'm new to PKs. What is the main difference in the new and old style?

Doubleedge, The old style has the lock release up near the blade. Its a small lever operated by the thumb.

The new style has the lock release inset into the scale. It is a sliding button actuated by the thumb and is MUCH better than the old style.

It is still the strongest lock I have seen.

Dennis, thanks for your response, even when I was asking about "PK" not "PH". Fat fingers will be the death of me yet. I appreciate your honesty when you stated the new style was much better than the old rather than trying to unload yours on me. I see on Round Eye's site the pocket hobbit sells for 179.00, knifeoutlet.com has them for 145.00, so give me a good reason why I should buy the old style from you for 179.00.

As mentioned earlier we build everything in lefthanded versions. About 5% of production is left handed

Doubleedge: Can't think of one. I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere and I wouldn't blame anyone for going there.

I have an agreement with REKAT that I won't ***** out their products and I honor my agreements. I costs me some sales but There are lots of customers and I get my share, so I do ok. If I don't get them all, well other dealers have to eat too. It's called integrity. My reputation is too important to me and no price is too high for that.

The knife is worth the asking price and it is a fair price. The knives with the new lock release are the same price and a better value. If I can get the old models I have retrofitted or exchanged for new ones I will. If not, I will try and get permission from Bob to discount them. If he gives the ok I will drop the price. Some people might like the old lock release and could take one over the new one....nah, I don't think so. The new one is that much better.

Good luck on your quest. If I get the OK to cut the prices on the old ones I'll post it here.

Dennis

Dennis, I've been out of town for a couple of days on business, so sorry for the delay in answering.

Honesty and integrity are good enough reasons for me. I'll buy the left handed PH from you. If Bob gives you the OK when he gets back, you can send me a rebate or I'll get it modified. Please check your email.

Thanks,

Mark
