Just bought a Pocket hobbit from a fellow forumite. it is the black bladed one. I have the Sifu and this baby seems to be the Sifu's young wicked brother! Using the button, it opens fast with no "grit" noticABLE at all. If you use the thumb stud, there is some"grit' noticable. The knife locks up tight and is Razor sharp! The kydex sheatht that comes with it allows a quick deployment of the knife. What do you owners think of this knife;especially its serrated upper part of the blaDe?

I have both older and newer versions. The older one has a locking bar at the end of the handle. Impressive knives, but suited only for self defense IMO.

especially its serrated upper part of the blaDe

They're not serrations I insist, they're teeth!!

I have an old model. This is really strictly a fighter, with the teeth most useful for grabbing. It is far from smooth and quick in opening and closing, but the lock is rock solid and the design is effective for reverse grip. It wouldn't be my first choice if a similarly solid lock were available on a Kaspar, Lightfoot, Emerson, etc.

I HAD one and i think it's a great knife. Too bad as i sold it due to hard times 6 months ago. Anyway, I had the black coating removed by Allen Blade(not sure if he is still free to do this...) and he restored the knife to a luster satin shine. He even go as far as to buff out every corner of the blade leaving it smooth and NO "grit" felt when opening with thumb studs. I hope the fellow forumite whom i sold the knife to still has it.....
The "teeth" on the spine? It's what they call a catcher. To hook your opponent's body part when used in reverse grip.

Enjoy your new knife as i did with mine!
