Are there any pocket knives with saw blades other than the Victorinox Farmer? I have seen something schrade/old timer, but not sure about the quality of those. Looking for something to chop up sticks for whittling in the field without having to deal with an actual saw.

That was a pretty good concept, well made with decent materials. However, the saw failed terribly....The teeth were just notches cut in the blade, not sharp at all...#45 LUMBER JACK / ROUGHNECK | Great Eastern Cutlery

If you have patience and money, you could land one of these bizarre monsters![]()
Very true and I heard of disappointment at the time. As I said, bizarre monsterThat was a pretty good concept, well made with decent materials. However, the saw failed terribly....The teeth were just notches cut in the blade, not sharp at all...

I think the 12,s? Are absolutely the best saw for this.Opinel sells various-sized folding saws!!!
Lee Valley sells a retractable saw the size of a box cutter!!!
I reviewed a Victorinox Hunter in 1992, found the long saw-blade even better than the one on my Mauser, and carried it frequently for many years. Unfortunately, while travelling, some cops reckoned they had mistaken it for an automatic, because the lock was on the side at the time, impounded it, and then it went missing from the evidence room, so I never got it backOtherwise if you want a performing saw. Bigger is better.
Swiss army/Wenger? Do oversized knives. So the saw is better. But of course the knife is bigger.
Which is kind of the victorinox soldier. But just bigger.
The soldier being the easiest to remember for me.
And then I realised you mentioned the farmer.
So there are a bunch of SAK knives with saws that are a size up.
Just re-reading my article from 1992. I knew that Victorinox had taken my idea for a rescue knife (developed in a further separate article), but I'd forgotten about my suggestion for the 'inset panels' in the handle scales!I reviewed a Victorinox Hunter in 1992, found the long saw-blade even better than the one on my Mauser, and carried it frequently for many years. I don't dislike the Victorinox at all, I was just curious what other options were out there. I like to consider what's available before pulling the trigger on something. The saw blade on Victorinox models is a very good one. May I ask, do you dislike the Victorinox saw or maybe looking for a knife with a little more character?
Its a bitza made of parts coming from various manufacturers by an old cutler of the Vieilles Lames team. Built like a tank (and nearly as heavy) !Who made this knife? John
