Pocket Knives? What gives???

my pepo comma froma china an dem nife is rearry good. it chop chopa any kin a animal yu like to eat! good fo chop suey too!

Ha ha! All kidding aside, china has a really bad rap for producing some real crap. generally, you get what you pay for. But..... I urge you to try out one of them new Benchmades that are produced in asia. I have a mini pika and
I love it! I'd put it against my spyderco anyday. cost only about $25 and performs just as well as a $150 spyderco. i even use it to pry stuff with no worries of breaking it. At $25, I can throw it away if it breaks and buy a new one. but mine hasn't broken yet as my current EDC.

A lot has been said about RR knives in this thread and I agree that they are very good knives for the money. However, I like the Marbles knives even better. For the money I don't believe there is a better knife anywhere. Have any of you had any experience with Marbles knives?

Here's a few pictures of two Marbles swing guards I recently got.

Both are well made for the price, the red one is a very big knife. If you compare the quality to a recently produced Case Swing guard, the Case knife wins. But the Case swing guard cost $55.00 (a little more than twice the price).

All in all you can't beat the Marbles knives at $19.99. The smaller one even came with a zippered pouch. A large whittler I bought is equally nice.

Thanks JPD, great pics BTW. I really like the Marbles brand pocket knives that I've recently bought. They have really impressed me and for the money they are superb.

Only you can tell whether the expensive knives are 'better' for you and your purpose.
I carry expensive knives 'cause I love portable artwork that is useful as well, and I get more satisfaction from a $700 custom than a $10 cheapie. YMMV.

Whether or not a chinese made Rough Rider is as good as a Queen is up to the end user. I am just glad I have a choice. A lot of things these days, like electronics are made in China, and you either take it or leave it. That's not how it is with knives. Knives are still made all over the world--the U.S., Germany, Japan, and China. Non-Chinese knives may be more expensive, but I think they are worth it and will continue to buy them.
