Pocket Pair

Wow, that's an awesome set!

Only thing that would make it better is a bottle opener incorporated into the handle...;)

What are the dimensions, especially the width. Looks like it is thin enough to be unnoticeable if it could be carried on the belt horizontally?

Nice looking Combo Rick, You could alway's put a small belt style loop on the back and let the buyer decide which way they would want to carry It, Like on my Koyote Custom Knive's Medium PSK's I carry It as a Necker but It also has a small belt loop for belt carry and It also fit's well In the pocket, If I had that Combo I would have It on my Possible's Bag Shoulder Strap,

The problem with this little setup is that wearing it as a necker or in a pocket would be hard to do.
I'm not a show-off per se but I would want to show that off. That is some excellent looking work.

Nice rig. I am developing a new fondness for small, solid, fixed blades. Yours looks real handy for the bush.

I really like that. Would love that setup for EDC. Just throw it in my back pocket and go.

Those look fantastic Rick! I like that setup just the way it is.

What did you use on the cord wrap to secure the twine? I have been trying to do something similar to a knife I have with some Jute, but not sure what to harden it with. I tried super glue with not so great results.

While I Completely agree with the above statement. I think that the set up you've got here would be just fine (size wise) for pocket carry. I carry a gerber multi tool and a fire steel ( the same size but mine has a plastic handle on it) in my pocket everyday and don't even notice them. The multitool is about the same length as that knife and I'm sure much heavier.

Thats pretty damn neato Rick.

Rick,

Simple is good bro. I like the whole package. The leather looks good, your edges are looking VERY good, I like the mottled look of the dye you put on it.

Is that jute twine on the handles of those? If so - you could strip them in an emergency and get a little tinder no?

Love it bud - keep up the good work.

P.S. Oh, and if I were you I would jab that sharp part into your eye and end it all. I mean - LOOK AT YOU!

Faca,

If I had my guess he either stained the leather a base coat of tan and then used more coats of tan (in a random pattern - notice the spray marks - likely flicked on to the leather using a brush or a tooth brush) or a deeper stain like chocolate brown or light brown.

Please correct me if I am wrong Rick.

TF is mostly right.... First off, I stain the leather prior to making anything out of it. That way, the pattern is more random and not dictated by the shape of the fabricated item.

I really don't pay attention to the pattern much... spilling, spraying, splattering, sweeping, dabbing, flicking, etc... Every one is different. (TIP: If you work the dye into a foam you get cool patterns as it dries.) Because I try to recycle when I can, I have bottles of old dye and stain... some oil based and some waterbased. I mix the two in smaller bottles in varying colour combos. They separate and create patterns when applied.

Sometimes I add accents to areas, afterwards.
