what is your pocket practice?
Do you clip your knife, or throw it in with keys(phone, wallet) and lint, and other pocket critters?
Or --- does your knife have its own lint ridden (or free) pocket?
I'll start, I assign the knife its own pocket, i also turn the pocket ears inside out to clear the lint, lest it gathers in the inner workings, that and a little gust of canned air goes a long way,

I remove the pocket clip and carry horizontally at the bottom of my right front pocket. Nothing in that pocket but the knife.

Once a month or so I will turn my pocket inside out and take a lint roller to it.

There was a time when I would sew a line of stitches down the outer edges of each of my front jeans pockets (the inner white portion) to create a separate compartment exclusively for a pocketknife and a flashlight (one in each pocket). This kept the knife and flashlight vertical and prevented them from moving around or falling horizontally to the bottom of the pockets. As an added benefit I could carry other things like keys/etc in the larger portion of the pockets without those items coming into contact with the knife or flashlight.

My front right pocket always has a slipjoint in a sheath, a loose SAK (the really small one), my SureFire sidekick (small plastic flashlight), and a roll of dog poop bags (because if I’m outside, which is often, my dogs are with me). Other pockets hold other stuff.

I use my left pocket and let the knife of the day ride a bit to the right in the deep spot ~ the clip puts a nice wear spot in all my shorts and jeans ~ that kinda guides the knife into the sweet spot after a few minutes of moving around ~ got a Sig P238 in the same area so it's a busy spot that needs adjusting once in a while.

RFP - modern “folder” all by itself. Lately a Combat Troodon. Keeps gunk out of the action.

LFP - traditional along with keys and coins and whatever else. Lately a bunny knife or drei nieten messer. Builds character.

I mostly carry IWB. If I have deep pockets, a 3" folder at the bottom of RFP all by itself.
Coat pockets for larger knives in the winter.
LFP holds my keychain with an Alox Minichamp.
For a day hike I might carry a Pioneer with a saw in my back pocket in its own leather slip.

Nothing fancy for me. For folders, pocket clip on the right pocket no prob. It usually shares space with my hand sanitizer and disposable lighter. If it’s a fixed blade, I usually only carry the Izula sized ones that’ll easily hide in a pocket.

It’s clipped to my right back pocket. Nothing else in that pocket. Wallet goes in the left rear. Doesn’t matter if I’m wearing my usual jeans, or work uniform pants. Always in the same spot.

First one is loose in the pocket. Second one is clipped.

I will have keys and wallet in the same pocket.

Right front pocket is my phone and folder, unless I'm wearing pants where that space isnt given, then the folder goes into the right back pocket, left front pocket are keys and lighter, left side thigh pocket is my wallet and right thigh pocket are my cigarettes. Basically everything's in the same spot all the time, doesn't matter what kind of pants I'm wearing

RFP - Folder clipped on and Ridge Wallet loose in the bottom of the pocket.
LFP - If I’m driving my key fob otherwise it’s empty.

I don’t like carrying things in my pockets.

Cheers Mac
