It looks like there are a bunch of scratches in the handle in this pic but that is just part of the pattern of the handle materials reflecting in the light.

It's just the one on the bottom but I don't have many pics by itself unfortunately.

Aaron, I am glad to see your pieces popping up on the market. Hopefully you are being forced to turn down work.
Had I of seen this prior to Fathers Day, this would have been my gift from the misses...

Someone is going to own a Fantastic piece!

Very interested in the knife but I don't understand what the scales are made of. What exactly is "grass herringbone"? Is it a type of micarta that you made?

It is a micarta that Shade Tree Customs makes. The color (grass) and style (herringbone), the weave pattern is common with older sport jackets and looks Great as a scale set.

Shade tree does some really nice work as well, look them up for a dazzling array of handle choices for your preferential craftsman to choose from, (I like starry night and drunken coffee bag)
Worthy of note, You could do Much worse than Aaron as that craftsman, he is a good guy.

Ritt, Thanks for the interest. Sorry my description wasn't very clear on this one but Bill pretty much covered it. Shadetree Custom Composites is a company that makes a variety of custom micarta type handle materials.

From their website this is a little about what they use to make the materials:

"We use a high quality, water clear aero-marine epoxy resin in everything we make. It is the same type of resin used to lay up aircraft wings and boat hulls; it is expensive, but it makes the best possible product for you, our customer. The resin cures hard, is highly chemical resistant and rated to a minimum of 280 degrees Fahrenheit."

Thanks to you both for the explanation, I'll know in the future.
Please confirm the knife is still available and I'll paypal you $131 immediately.
