Pocket Sheath For a 110?

Well, I experimented with a pocket sheath today. Actually, I made two of them. The first one, consists of a flat piece of leather with a stand-up pouch on the outside edge and stitched across the bottom. When carried in my left hanky pocket, a tiny bit of the brass from my 110 FG shows at the top of my pocket. The way it is built, a feller could carry it in either back pocket and the little bit that shows, does make it easier to draw. Probably still less noticeable then a pocket clip and any kind of vest or jacket would hide it admirably.

I decided to try a second one without stitching it across the bottom, which does totally conceal the knife in my back pocket, but is a little more difficult to make accessable. I guess it depends on what a feller wants and expects. I have the first on in my pocket right now and we're headed out for the evening, so I'll see how it "sits". Just thought I'd let you all know. I am working on the problem, but the jury is still out.

In either model, the knife does stand up without getting lost and the image on the pocket looks more like wallet then a knife sheath.

Stay tuned........

Jack

Sounds good so far! I hope you give your engineering dept. a raise for all of their dedication! :D

Engineering department works for Diet Creme Sodas. I carried both wallets tonight. One in my hanky pocket and one in my right front pocket. Was surprised, the one in my front pocket rode very well and there was still room for my money clip and some pocket change. Knife stayed put, vertical and right in the corner and was pretty un-noticeable while standing, sitting, driving, and the knife was very accessable. I now think I like the one with the closed bottom best. I felt good walking around tonight with a Buck 112 FG on my belt, a Buck 110 FG in a wallet left hanky pocket, Buck 301 in my left front pocket along with my cell phone, and a Buck/Cabela's AG in a wallet in my rt. front pocket. I need to get a couple of these out to you "experts" and see what you think.

307 in the pocket, 110 on the belt and a a Rat 1 or Sebbie for me. I never know; the Sebbie or Rat 1; they are a comfort. I need to find a decent money clip.

That sounds promising.... I have a similar set up to carry a large stockman in dress pants. I made one out of heavy felt, closed at the bottom and shaped semi-circular (at the bottom) to match a front pocket.

But your leather version sounds like it would work well with a 110.

I want something that would make the knife easy to grab out of the front right pocket.

JPD. Here on the left is the inside the paints sheath for the 110 that Jack sent me
Along with a 112 sheath with a concho. The sheath works great in the

Yes, that might work out ( even though part of me really likes the belt sheath with the concho)

The 112 concho sheath is way cool.I like the conceal carry with a BPS110
in the right front pocket. This set up seems to work well for me.
Great job Jack!
Good idea Goose!

Yep...that pocket sheath is too cool for school

Got mine yesterday from Jack. Not certain if it is supposed to be mailed around for testing...but this one is not going anywhere. I wrote Jack asking if I can keep it.

If you are wearing loose fitting pants or slacks..drop a 110 in your pocket and it just isn't right. Flops around like a trout on the shore waiting to be seal clubbed.

When you have this sheath, the knife is right where it should be every time and deploys easily (even with a OAB).

The system (110 and pocket sheath) is perfect for weddings, bar mitzvahs, or those days when you have to wear a suit to the office...anywhere a belt sheath would scare sheeple...or infants if you are at a Bris Milah (never been to one...just a thought).

Anyway, I concur with my esteemed Buck Brother Forever (BBF), Jeff. Great job Jack!!!! Thank you.

Oh, thanks gents for the tip on the "money clip"...my EDC gear has been, and is today, a Cold Steel Ti-Lite, my 110 G-10 in Jack's "pocket pool" sheath, and a Mayo Waimea as a pocket clip :)

Jack,

How about a hanky pocket one for a 112 on the far left and a 303 slot on the right. You could just roll over some extra for the flap and sew....maybe. They should both be low enough to total conceal....2 fur one.....hankie could go in the middle....

I was thinking more on the lines of a cloth sheath that hung low on the belt enough to extend into the back pocket. That way it would be high in the pocket and easy to retrieve the knife.

Wanted to report back on the sheath that Jack made as pictured by Hawkeye (the natural one in this pic: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=114183&d=1227123370 ).

I have been using one for a solid month-plus now. Carries my 110NS BG-42 G-10 Micarta.
Love the knife and sheath.

Had to wear grown up clothes to The City the night after Christmas. Took my wife to see "Phantom of the Opera" and dinner at a Frenchy place afterwards. So, a pocket clip or belt sheath wouldn't do. Nor would any one of my sheath knives hanging off the belt. Wouldn't match my burgundy tassled loafers. Even in a monkey suit, this Jack pocket sheath works great.

So, anyway, the sheath worked oakie dokie and in fact I have been using it everyday since I got it. While I like the cordura Buck horizontals, my fear is that the snap would come off and the knife would slip out and become MIA.

This sheath works great. Even while driving in the car, the knife is easy to take out in case your wifey has a hang nail or something. The excess flap doesn't really take up much room...it's only 1/8" thick and serves well in keeping the knife at the rear of the pocket and ready to extract standing upright.

Great sheath for those of you looking for something inconspicuious and functional.
Good job. Way to go.:thumbup:

Thanks for kicking this post back up Goose.:thumbup:Now I remember where
I left my BPS-110.:D I looked everywhere but in that sheath for it.
The sheath workes really good like my esteemed Buck Brother said.I have
only tryied it in my wranglers jeans.Where it does keep the knife upright and ready for use.
Thanks Jack

I think I would prefer the clip for front pocket as well...
Yeah Bob, I know whatcha mean. A clip on a 110 would be nice. But, since I don't have a clip 110, if I carry a clip, it's usually a Cold Steel Ti-Lite (top two knives under the 110...auto opens on extraction without springs...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOqr0rbJQlA ) or my Buck Sirus 298GY ASAP. If I want something lighter, it's my Mayo TNT 172. Always have my Mayo Waimea as a money clip (when I have money).

When not wearing jeans...and wearing slacks , I'm thinking the 110 on a clip would just drop down in baggy pockets due to heft. And, if I had to go the office or other places with sheeple, this pocket sheath is perfect.

But that's just one Goose's opinion.

Here's a pic of the Jack sheath and a pic of my EDC clip rotation w/ a 110 for scale...

Note: on some browsers, if the pic doesn't open full size, you may be able to cursor down to the bottom of the pic for an expansion option.

The leather pocket sheath in your post does it fit the front or back pocket? I am working on a clip pouch to fit the front pocket

Hey HBB...
Front pocket.
I'll have to try the back pocket.
Actually have two gizmos from Jack. Wanted one a bit longer than the first one he sent. So I'm thinking the shorter one may fit the rump.

Keep us posted on that clip pouch. I, for one, am quite interested in diff carry options.
