Those of you that use these, is the knife fairly secure in the sheath? Talking leather sheath here.
If you hung upside down off the monkey bars would your knife stay in?
I am considering switching over to fixed blade edc, but would have to go the pocket route. My job sometimes requires crawling up into rafters of buldings and want the knife to be secure.
Thanks for the input.

not sure about a leather sheath, but I carry a BK11 in a kydex sheath in my front pocket held in by a KaBar TDI clip......it's been rock solid and would hold up to bungee jumping if I needed it too...

The problem is any leather sheath will eventually deform and loosen up quite a bit, even wet formed leather....but IMHO the bigger problem would be it soaking sweat and stuff....that leather would REEK in a few months.....I might try very very hard to convince myself that Kydex would do.....

The leather sheath that came with my DCL pocket fixed blade is very secure. If I don't catch the corner on my pocket when drawing it, the sheath comes right out with the knife.

Check out the NiteIze eClipse

I use one of these on my Izula sheath (actually stuck it to a piece of scrap kydex to act as a clip-plate that I can alter the mounting of).

The clip locks onto your pocket so it won't slide off when you draw the knife.
