Pocket shredders - cures?

Just got a new pocket shredder (Emerson Mini Commander) yesterday. The G-10 is like 80 grit sandpaper with an ultra tight clip. After one day of using this thing at work my jeans pockets are mangled (some of it was from previous knives). My pockets aren't going to last much longer. The jeans are in fine condition otherwise.

Anybody have any good suggestions or easy fixes? I don't own a sewing machine. I don't really want to fill the G-10 with epoxy like Nutnfancy did on that Cold Steel knife, but I may have to if I can't come up with a better solution.

Aint she sweet?
Lots of good suggestions/fixes so far. Keep in mind, those knive are not primarily for EDC/Utility tasks (according to some folks), hence the name.
1-Bend the clip out slightly
2-Sand the G10 under the clip
3-Wear tougher pants
4-Remove the pocket clip and use a lanyard

I have often wondered whether a piece of leather, folded over the pocket edge and then stitched on, would help.

When my pockets started getting shredded I would take a cut of denim and sew it over the shredded portion. Made it a bit harder to get clipped but it does save the pocket.

You don't need a sewing machine, just a needle and decent thread. I use the spectra stuff they sell at County comm. Never had an issue with it. The kevlar stuff isn't bad either, the the spectra stuff is thicker and (I think) a bit easier to work with.

I would just sand the G10 under the clip to smooth it out a little. :)

Adjusting the clip to the right tension is important on emersons...i carry a few different emersons(all waved) and as long as the clip tension is just right, ive never had a problem with them...and i wear shorts more often than jeans and the material of the shorts is not near as tough as denim. but constant waving of the knife will eat up your pockets so be careful...

get some ballroom jeans from duluth trading. the pockets are lined with the same stuff they make firehose out of, it's pretty durable.

I’ve done this on some of my pants, getting it to look right was a PITA but once I got the hang of it, its worked fine for me.

I EDC my Emersons in a Gunsite universal belt pouch worn horizontally on the left side for cross draw deployment.
The wave feature works the same this way, and my pockets are free to carry other stuff.
The standard sized pouch will hold Emerson's from Mini-Commander to CQC15, but my Persian is a bit too long.
The flap with velcro closure conceals the knife from the sheeple and it can be tucked behind when frequent access is desired (letting just the clip secure the knife).
And yes, I have one belt pouch that has needed the a little resewing a couple of times over the past 5 years, but I have another more presentable one for Sunday-go-to-meeting times.
Funny, but the G-10 on the M-Com in your photo does look far more textured than mine which is also marked 2009. Looks like it's great for grip but hell on pants!
Nice knife!

I've found the sanding method to work best for me and my pockets. Just a quick mask around where the clip sits, then remove clip and sand. My pockets hold up fine, and I can still keep plenty of tension on the clip.

I've used a piece of electrical tape or duct tape under the clip before to help it slide on and off and it has worked fine for me and doesn't ruin the finish on the knife.
