Pocketknives in the wilderness, more specifically slipjoints in the wilderness

I always carry a Case trapper. In the woods during the winter or when canoeing, I also carry a sheathe knife. The sheath knife is easier to access while wearing outer clothing or gloves and sitting in a boat.

9/10ths of my wanders don't require heavy wood processing. So sure, I usually just have a folder on me. I feel perfectly comfortable with a Vic. Rucksack, Farmer, whatever. If I had to potentially destroy/damage one of these tools in a pinch, so be it, they cost nothing.

My woods kit is an alox SAK and a small machete. They do everything I need. If the SAK is too small, then I use the machete.
