Has anyone done business with pocketknivess.com? It appears that they have a knife that I'm interested in that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. The knife is a Muela stag scaled folder, specifically the BX-8A. Thanks!

Generally sites with a web address one misspelling away from sounding legitimate are scam sites that copy their inventory from legitimate ones

I have a $100 dollars over from spending on groceries. My last hundred spot for a couple weeks.

Is that website worth it? I'm I finally getting a break? Enjoying what hobby I can have with a genuine knife?

Here's the address listed on their website. I'll let you decide if it looks like a legitimate business.

Some people do run legitimate knife retail businesses out of their homes. I've bought knives from such businesses.

But in this case that site is pure scam. For one thing the prices make that clear, listing knives for a third, or a quarter of their actual retail prices.

Coincidentally, someone else asked about a site called sportifydirect, which is another obvious scam site (obvious for the same reason), and I believe it is operated by the same people behind pocketknivess.com. Both sites bare a striking resemblance to one another, and if you scroll to the bottom of both sites you will see "Copyright 2024", among many other similarities.

Recently such scammers with fake sites were using pictures taken from BladeHQ, with the BHQ logo behind the knives, and that was a telltale sign of a scam site. But it looks like the scammers figured out that people could tell from their use of that logo that the sites were scams so they stopped using BHQ pics.

There are legitimate businesses that run out of people's homes. But pair that with unreasonably low prices and very limited ways to contact them should results in instant red flags.

There are a lot of fake sites like this - fortunately they tend to use similar templates and tells.

- Suspiciously low prices
- Everything is on sale
- They frequently steal banners and graphics
- The returns or FAQ sections have information that is clearly from another type of retailer, interestingly clothing policies are frequently used. Often the name "husqvarna outlets" shows up as well.
- Often bits of the template aren't filled out - IE - Lorem Ipsum or "fill in information about your email newsletter here"

I'd like to have a dollar for every time my Netflix, Pandora, Sirius XM, Verizon, Roku, Direct TV, and Amazon accounts have some kind of problem just so far this year. All I have to do is click on a link and give them my bank routing number and account number and then it's fixed!

A few days ago I ordered something cheap from that site. I just logged onto PayPal to check the invoice. Instead of seeing my order, a notice from PayPal appeared. It reads "We removed this invoice because it may have been a scam." They go on to reccomend not calling any numbers, clicking any links and consider deleting any emails from them. I will update this post if I receive anything from them.
